Chaz Fishing & Camping

The "Chaz" (Chassahowitzka) River offers a great place to escape for fishing, camping, snorkeling and many other family outdoor activities. The warm waters of the springs draws lots of fish and manatees during the cooler winter months (November - March). You will see lots of wildlife along the rivers banks but just be careful if you bring your own boat the waters are shallow and conceal limestone outcroppings that can cause severe damage.

I've gone kayak fishing in that river before! Caught a ton of snapper and some spotted sunfish
