This is Changbinâs most vulnerable song and it hits me every time. You really donât need to understand the lyrics to feel what heâs singing and feeling. Itâs really incredible to me how amazing lyricists 3Racha are.

If I remember correctly, this song was released during mental health awareness week. Apparently it had the JYPE staff in tears listening to it. The blue tree was a subtle nod to the Australian project. I think it had only just started when this was released.
Changbin is someone who doesn't want to show 'weakness' because he wants the others to be able to lean on him. He is afraid that if they see him falter, they will feel like they can't\shouldn't lean on him. They have talked about him not letting on when he is having a hard time, and that if he does show it, then it must be bad.
He also does not like being on his own. He has said he feels like he is a dark person, and that being around others helps to chase away the darkness and chaotic thoughts. At home he only sleeps in his room. He prefers to spend his time in the common area where he can see and hear the others.
Idk if you missed it, but someone in your live comments towards the end mentioned that the issue might be that mental health is kind of a taboo subject in Korea and that changbin was trying to reach out, not JYP. Idk if that's accurate, but it would explain a lot. It would actually be a really powerful first step to even HINT at topics that are taboo in one's culture. Yeah, it seems obvious to us westerners that a link should be at the end, but if the concepts and hints about mental health programs in other countries are already a huge step for changbin to take, then what he did was even more of a gift. Also, just imagine what it took for someone so invested in the idea of personal strength to show his weakness publicly in order to help others. I am in absolute awe of Seo Changbin. I posted a comment VERY similar to this within the first 30 minutes after Roscoe posted...going a little more into depth about the stigma regarding mental illness in Korea...but apparently I used a taboo word, because my comment quickly disappeared. To summarize my original comment...Korean culture expects someone with mental illness to just push through it...to tough it out...and asking for help is a sign of weakness and therefore can be seen as a dishonor to the family. Did you know that about a third of all Koreans show symptoms of mental illness at least once in their lifetime? My heart breaks for those who feel that they are alone with nowhere to turn, and I'm so proud of Changbin (and all the SKZ members) for always letting Stays know that they are not alone.

This song is one of my comfort songs. Bin wrote his heart out when he was having a hard time hoping to comfort others. And he did.
It cuts deep knowing his personality. He's someone who wants to be the core for the people in his life, someone they can rely on & even if he's struggling, he won't say it out loud.
The fact he was going through so much, having to write something so personal & deep... Ugh, I cry every fuxking time...
This song breaks my heart for Binnie. To know these feelings personally, you never want another to feel it. He's the glue in SKZ for sure đ€

I had looked up the Blue Tree Project awhile ago when I first saw this. It started when a young man in Australia was "crying out for help" by painting a tree with blue paint. Basically to have someone ask him, "why?" But no one did. The young man took his life. After that, the Blue Tree Project was founded to help. It's extremely sad and moving. Changbin also used blue paint in the MV "Ex" - a song also about mental health and how people deal with losing someone (either a breakup, or losing someone due to death, or just losing a friend even). Very strong imagery.
Top comment already said it, but mental health is taboo in korea, so them even hinting at it is a call in itself. The song is very sad but at the same time very meaningful. This is what Changbin felt, maybe still feels, the desire to be the light in the life of others, and it's just so touching. I hope the society changes enough so this topics can have the attention they need.

In my opinion, this song is a masterpiece. Changbin is incredible at portraying emotions, his musicallity to pronounce every words with the exact entonation is magnificent... He puts a lot of efforts and it shows. Lyrics are always on point. Maybe I am biased, cause I am a big fan. Also, I think the mv is really good and it show the feeling of this song. (I always cry... This particular song hits hard on me)
This is one of my favorite songs from the SKZ Replay album. The way all of the members of Stray Kids care and support each other is one of the things I most love about them.
My absolute favorite Changbin song. I love it so much, he packs so much emotion into it. And I love that Chan is also featured, because I feel the lyrics apply to both of them. They are both pillars in the group to the other members, and sometimes that has to be so lonely. I just want to hug Binnie tight every time I hear this song. â€
Just want to make a clarification re your question about SKZ-PLAYER: SKZ-PLAYER is part of the same project as SKZ-RECORD, the only difference between them is that SKZ-RECORD is audio only, while SKZ-PLAYER has an accompanying video.

You would not believe the hoops SKZ and other K-pop artist have to jump through in order to get a message across sometimes. Apparently during the fire in Australia, they weren't allowed to comment on it so they instead made the song FNF (fauna and flora) and even filmed it in Australia. I bet there was a bunch of red tape saying they couldn't link out to an organization, especially if it wasn't an official partnership deal đ

I think this song is an amazing example of how even people who look and seem to have it all together on the outside may REALLY be struggling on the inside.
Which works towards both the point that you should always treat others with kindness because you never know what they're going through, AND that even though you may feel you are the only person on the planet feeling the way you do, or are the only person struggling, it's not true. There's many people our there who feel how you do. They just may not be showing it.
I'm really glad Binnie has the boys to support him, along with a tool like music to allow him to express himself and let these feelings out.

Such a powerful song. With the blue tree project, I've never seen Changbin or anyone from skz mention it. Did anyone actually say that's what the MV is referencing? Or did one of the fans come up with it?
People are likely to search blue tree or painted tree which will lead them to the project. We have to remember not everyone has our perceived freedom to speak on the topics that matter.
This song isn't about being alone its about feeling lonely and unsupported by those around you because you can't or won't show your vulnerability.
