  • Leopards in Sri Lanka are very secretive, but I'm on a mission in Yala National Park to find and photograph them in the wild!
    Along the way we meet lots of animals; including reptiles, monkeys, some adorable mongoose and even enter a bat cave!
    Experience my unique journey from the coast into the protected National Park in search of the endangered felines!
    Watch the series TRAILER at: • Sri Lanka Wildlife Doc...
    Part 2 of my trip in search of elephants can be seen here: COMING SOON!
    No animals were harmed in the production of this film. Correct safety procedures were followed at all times ensuring that the presenter, the wildlife shown and the crew were in no danger!
    Handling wildlife as shown is NOT advised (especially with venomous, infectious or potentially aggressive species!). All handling was done purely for educational and scientific purposes. Leave wild animals to be wild!

    I like your genuine enthusiasm. I am from Sri Lanka, now living in US. I too have visited Yala, amazing place. It seems like you visited Sri Lanka some time ago. When did you take this video??

      Great to hear you enjoyed it! The Wildest Lanka series was filmed 3 years ago, shortly after the Spanish project was finished (which you can view on this channel).

      Thanks, good to hear you enjoyed it! Usually there are only 2 or 3 people involved in the filming, sometimes also involving local guides for assistance.

    I'm a Sri Lankan, usually, when we go to Yala, we move around in a safari jeep, I never thought we were allowed to wander around alone without a tour guide. are we allowed to travel by foot, or did you have any special permission

    • @diaryoftheadventurer
      @diaryoftheadventurer  Před 3 lety +3

      You are correct, as stated in the credits of the film entering Yala N.P. on foot is usually not allowed. All of our work was done with permission in specific areas of the park, with safety under local guidance. As we ultimately discovered, seeing leopards is much easier from a safari jeep anyway, so that is the best way for visiting Yala!
