- Something" is a single released by The Beatles in 1969, and featured on the album Abbey Road. It was the first song written by George Harrison to appear on the A-side of a Beatles single. It was one of the first Beatles singles to contain tracks already available on a long playing (LP) album, with both "Something" and "Come Together" having appeared on Abbey Road. "Something" was the only Harrison composition to top the American charts while he was a Beatle.
John Lennon and Paul McCartney-the two principal songwriting members of the band-both praised "Something" as among the best songs Harrison had written. As well as critical acclaim, the single achieved commercial success, topping the Billboard charts in the United States, and entering the top 10 in the United Kingdom. The song's success continued after the breakup of The Beatles, when it was covered by over 150 artists including Elvis Presley, Shirley Bassey, Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, James Brown, Julio Iglesias, Smokey Robinson, Joe Cocker becoming the second-most covered Beatles song after "Yesterday".[1]
Lyrics :
Something in the way she moves,
Attracts me like no other lover.
Something in the way she woos me.
I don't want to leave her now,
You know I believe in how.
Somewhere in her smile she knows,
That I don't need no other lover.
Something in her style that shows me.
I don't want to leave her now,
You know I believe in how.
You're asking me will my love grow,
I don't know, I don't know.
Stick around, and it may show,
But I don't know, I don't know.
You know I love that women of mine.
And I need her all of the time.
Know am I telling to you.
That women..that women that make me blue.
Something in the way she knows,
And all I have to do is think of her.
Something in the things she shows me.
I don't want to leave her now.
You know I believe and how.
Enjoy and comment :) - Hudba
I think McCartney misses his friends very much.
Yes he does =( , two days ago I saw him here in Chile , poor Paul could barely sing Here Today (for Lennon) i'm sure he was weeping inside.
@ Uno de los momentos más emotivos del concierto. Ni hablar de la escenografía ❤.
I was watching an interview from 1988, George Harrison said he didn’t really know Paul. He said that for about 10 years, they didn’t really communicate. I’m sure they got closer during the last few years of George’s life. Life is funny like that.... age does that to you.
Indeed they were brothers
Jerry Leyva Paul and George were child hood friends and Paul recruited him into the band
Lennon said that Something was the best song on Abbey Road, I think we all agree.
It's my favourite Beatles song altogether
Top 2. Here comes the sun is my fav and something is my 2nd
I agree. But because it is the best song ever recorded by the Beatles.
Something is wonderful. I think I still love the Golden Slumbers/Carry That Weight/The End suite more though
Paul said that actually, replying ti a journalist just after Abbey Road was released...
After my mom passed away from cancer my dad played this song a lot around the house. I lost my mom but he lost his bestfriend, the love of his life. Whenever I hear this song it reminds me of my mom now and her big bright smile...
Alex Pfeifer I'm sure this song does justice to the beauty your mother possesses/ed.
I dont cry alot but this comment ripped me up. I wish the best to you and your dad.
So touching. Made me tear up
most beautiful thing i've ever read!
LOVE, PRAYERS, AND CONDOLENCES TO YOUR MOTHER, YOU, AND YOUR FAMILY!
This song is from another planet

Paul: "so I switched to ukulele and-"
Fan: *screams*
Paul: -high pitched screams back at fan-
Draculitis__ huh
i once did this on stage lmao
I can't find that video anywhere.
Frank Sinatra called "Something" the best love song ever written. A Big Name from more than a generation before the Beatles..... THAT is how wonderful this song is.
I don't want a google+ page he also said it was his favorite lennon mccartney song
Frank Sinatra crucified George’s song. His version was crap.
Jen Howell no he didn’t, George himself liked the way ol’ blue eyes sang it too
I love that he mentioned George before he played it. RIP George 1943-2001 We miss you George
Damn the crowd singing adds a reverb effect to Pauls voice.. sexy.
tawan c no
Both John and Paul praised George's songwriting brilliance on this song. That must have been the ultimate compliment George ever received as a songwriter...when his two fellow Beatles declared "Something" better than their own tunes on the ABBEY ROAD album.
John said publically that Something was the best song on Abby Road. I agree. That meant a lot to George.
imagine if they wrote a song together on abbey road. best songs off all time probably
Octopus’s garden is so underrated
Well. It IS the best song in the album so
I think the best compliments and validation comes from your peers and those closest to you
When the crowd started singing I started weeping.
Gently weeping?
Haha gotchq
Me too, both now and when i was there
@@kryptonitespider-bitedynam7305 me: violently sobbing
the beatles where a gift to the world , love them we will never see their like again
No one plays the solo like George :(
That solo was played by Clapton...
@@sant_ You must mean While My Guitar Gently Weeps. Clapton didn't play on Something.... Missing George.
Santi Bolso that was Whole my guitar gently weeps..thats the best solo The Beatles ever produced oof
The face of Olivia when Paul starts to sing, it's everything..
IM CRYING THIS MAKES ME SO EMOTIONAL OH MY GOD
ram mccartney THANK GOD IM NOT THE ONLY ONE
OMG ME TOO
When the crowd starts banging out that chorus. Jesus. Amazing.
Yeah mann
Es estremecedor...k cancion tan bella
For me, Paul performing George's song and opening with the Ukulele is the epitome of the Beatles' love for one another.
After all of their great hits and number one best sellers, this one song with it's earnest declaration of love is the one that always brings a tear to my eye. Not out of sadness, but out of appreciation for the beauty and emotion they always shared with us.
Everything about this performance is so sweet and beautiful. The fact that Paul's playing the ukulele that George gave him, the fact that Olivia and Yoko are there, the fact that the guitar solo is played exactly how it was written... so many little things to it. Paul and George were brothers despite how things seemed between them at times. ♥
Im French, "something" translates very well. That song will always be about only one "very" special girl. It doesn't matter what instrument he plays it on. Shes gone now, but in my heart and tears forever.....
Ahhhh! Lovely performance :)
Ye
i watch this video at least three times a day
We were there....It was an unforgettable day with Sir Paul McCartney ;)
lucky
The participation from the crowd is unreal. Music is so powerful.
It gives me goosebumps every time I hear the crowd singing along
Usually these videos don’t get to me even that one of Paul playing all my loving with the guy crying in the audience. This one got me. Paul was feeling it and now I’m feeling it. George died before I was born but I miss him.
its way better live, like while youre there, in your face, and you feel it and then you cry..

OMG yes
I was there back in 2017 when he played it live, and I started to bawl, it was beautiful
The genius of McCartney is that instead of doing it as George did it (which was beautiful) he does a completely different version and pulls it off perfectly. Fantastic!
If the real Paul is dead and this is a lookalike, the lookalike is a genius.
Only Americans say he's dead. So it doesn't count.
@@adobdebunkology5671 not all Americans I don't believe that dumb rumor
Don't throw genius around to lightly...
Don’t feed the Faulos, people
Thats his clone
This is so beautiful I get chills Everytime I watch this, and I love how he dedicates it to George my heart😩❤️❤️
i am seeing paulies concert in 5 days! cant wait! first time seeing his concert
emymummy1 how was it?
it was amazing! i feel so blessed to see paulie i will never forget :)
I will never forget this night..the greatest concert I’ve attended…the long flight from Vancouver was worth every air mile..
I remember being asked what was the one live concert I wished I’d been at. After thinking, I answered “I wish I’d been at Anfield in 2008 when McCartney did a concert there”.
You can see how amazing Paul is by turning one of the greatest love songs into an emotional one.
George had some MAD skills on the ukulele!! Paul too, but George was a True aficionado.
Very touching tribute to George Harrison
Can't hold tears while watching this💖
The crowd! And of course, Paul! You make George proud, I'm sure! 💚
R.I.P George💜
Saw Paul at Yankee Stadium in July of 2011, I honestly cried when he sang this because it was so beautiful and everyone belted it.
Amazingly beautiful. When the crowd starts to sing... It gets me everytime.
Goosebumps at 1:55

I've seen Paul McCartney twice in my young life, and this is my favorite song of his live without question
Whenever I hear any crowd singing a song all together it gets my eyes spraying tears. What energy in one place, it makes me emotional!
That's what I call a chill in the spine..
Cried so much... 10 years without George today...
God, i'm crying. God bless George!
Beautiful song. Saw Paul sing this live at Cardiff some years ago. Loved him.
hehe I just saw Paul play in Boston and he told this story :-) Love it!
1:03 you can see Yoko and Olivia in the crowd
wtf
The only song I will ever love forever :))
i love hearing the audience singing alone with him
A great dedication to the unsung hero of the Beatles, George Harrison. Best version of "Something" ever made and the crowd participation just makes it unforgettable. Thanks, Paul.
My friend was able to see Paul McCartney live and he’s a big George fan like me and told me how he performed this
And?
One genius paying homage to another equally great genius. George Harrison will never be forgotten.
This brings tears to my eyes! Tears of joy!!!!
The song and the crowd, Yoko included, made my eyes wet. Beatles forever! Philippines.
Боже, как приятно видеть и слышать гениального сэра Paul McCartney
Если начать день с просмотра этой музыки, то день будет ЧУДЕСНЫМ!!!🌞
Долгих лет Вам сэр Paul McCartney🙏
This song shows how talented George was.
I've only just discovered this video and I'm crying
awwwww Olivia !!! bless her
The crowd singing along, just hits you right in the feels.
Awesome tribute to George! What a crowd!!!
Hearing so many people singing along gives me chills... beautiful! It's amazing the power music has to unite people.
Makes me cry every time
i wish george was still alive
incredible song. probably the best... ever
I've saw him live last week
it gave me chills during all the concert
it was just incredible
I saw Paul McCartney twice, 2 years and 12 years ago. 2 of the best days of my life
dear paul...how you must carry so many memories of george and john...and how you must miss them...i love paul doing this
Paul made me sad and happy at the same time with this. If there's an afterlife George would've been watching it with John and Linda with a tear in his eyes.
Chorei feito uma criança longe de sua mãe. George era um gênio... Assim como Paul.
Many thanks Paul, you and your voice and your knowledge ofall the instruments let the Beatles be alive also in 2021!!
Amazing lead guitar bless George 🙌

This song is simply breathtaking.. Sittiing at my office atm and can't do nothing but think about that special someone with that special something. She lives far away but I can't help but thinking about her all the time. This song reminds me of how special and dear she is to me. This song makes me believe that things will work out and that our love will grow. Thank you George, you always had a way to touch peoples souls with your music. RIP
I agree with you guys about the part where the audience joins in. I start crying because it's so emotional. I was lucky enough to see him live 5 times. But when he did this beautiful tribute to George at Wrigley Field in Chicago, OMG! I was in tears when the audience just joins in the words "I don't know Oh I don't know!" Such a beautiful moment. I hope Sir Paul stays with us for a long time. He is a breath of fresh air!
Absolutely one of the best pop ballads ever.
One of my favourites for sure!
one of the most moving gigs I've been to
👍awesome song 2023!
I got chills.
I did too, when he played this at the concert I went to.
y'know i had to hold in all the tears while watching this
A beautiful tribute from a beautiful man to another beautiful man. x
A great tribute to a great man, by another great man.......thats just GREAT
one of the most beautiful songs ever made. thank you so much dear George.
Happy Birthday George! Peace & Love
I am not crying you are!
I cry every time 🙏❣
Saw him in concert on Monday, Nov 22nd, one of the greatest experiences ever. Singing this song brought tears to half the audience, fantastic
The solo is easy to play, yet it is incredibly hard to mimic George’s pace and playing style. Plus the “bend” on the 12th fret is actually a release and almost everyone messes that up.
Yep, including the guitarist in the video 🤦♂️
Yes it's very obvious if someone missed that one yet it's hard to imitate George's original play
The solo is full of ‘pre-bends’. It’s George’s style.
HIS LITTLE DANCE IS SO CUTE OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGG
This brings a tear to my eyes!
Awesome
thanks for sharing
This made me cry...
No one can sing something beautifully than paul mccartney
I guess we need to be thanking Gd that Paul is continueing to share these songs with us
I was there, it was awsome!
Brilliant!!!
A really great tribute. Beautiful to watch the performance and to join the vibes ....
1:55 when the community comes together it is a wonderful time to be here anyone agree?
I've loved this song since the first time I've heard it... But this version is really emotional! From the greatest simplicity of the little ukulele to the unwaited music explosion befor the solo.... LOVE PAUL! LOVE GEORGE! ♥
