No matter what people say or do to him, he still manages to exceed expectations. The Barcelona vs Real Madrid 3-2 game has to be one of the greatest performances from him. Chopped, studded, bloodied and bruised, but still managed to win the game for Barcelona just when it seemed like all hope was lost. Jorge A They do put pressure on him but they are not sure whether to try and tackle him or mark other players that are open. That is the thing with Messi, he adapts to every situation. You know what he's going to do but he always knows exactly what do to in response. If 5 players go on him to get the ball he will find a free player that will score. If you dive in to get the ball off him he will easily get past you, and if you don't dive in he will either run at you and turn you inside out or have space and time to set one of his teammates up. His close control, passing and incredibly precise shooting allow him a range of options so that he is always causing a goal - whether its putting it in the back of the net himself or setting another player up to score.
