How to write a Folk Tune, no sheet music skills required - Introduction to Composing Instrumentals

Funny thing you see, I wanted to compose a sea shanty. I played it to someone, I noticed "Hey this sounds a lot more like folk music." , I look up how to compose folk music and now I am greeted with a white board that shows the exact notes I have been using. Thank you.

Glad to reach you!! If it helps - a Sea Shanty is a formulaic folk song (usually ocean/boat/sailor themed) in two parts - The A part hosts the "Verse" and the B Part hosts the "Chorus" which should be lyrically and melodically simple enough that anyone can join in. Often the B part features a "Call and response" :)

i did this and for the rhytm i rolled: cake chocolate chocolate coffee cofee coffee coffee coffee. and that is very funny to me
