- SCP 096 is a Euclid Class anomaly also known as The Shy Guy.
SCP 343 is a Safe Class anomaly also known as God.
SCP-096 is a humanoid creature measuring approximately 2.38 meters in height. When someone views SCP-096's face, whether it be directly, via video recording, or even a photograph, it will enter a stage of considerable emotional distress. SCP096 will cover its face with its hands and begin screaming, crying, and babbling incoherently. Approximately one (1) to two (2) minutes after the first viewing, SCP-096 will begin running to the person who viewed its face (who will from this point on be referred to as SCP-096-1).
SCP-343 is a male, seemingly race-less, humanoid in appearance with apparent omnipotence. SCP343 was discovered walking the streets of Prague and detained after a staff member witnessed him disappear from the streets and reappear on a rooftop. SCP-343 is detained willingly in his chamber, as containment has proved impossible. SCP-343, colloquially nicknamed 'God' by the staff.

Makes sense. SCP-096 has shown the desire for friendship before in some alt timelines where he befriends blind people. Something is making him do this and won't let him stop? I can believe it. Some SCPs are made of crazier stuff.

Wow, I mean I had somewhat of a belief that 096 doesn’t want to hurt people, but I never thought it would require basically a god to have that known.
of course 096 doesnt want to hurt people. hes seen crying over the death he caused right? after he (redacted) them all he cries right? now why would a mindless killing machine cry? it doesnt make sense. well maybe he was just a dude who was transformed into that and is a person who cannot control his actions? is that person a monster? for being alive is his crime? and he does things he cannot control. the shy guy wants to be left alone and dissapear, that is what is reaveled at least through another scp, the desire camera.
(note: a lot of people think that 096 was made by the king of the mountain aka another scp who lives an top of mount everest. its a theory thats out there and its one i like a lot)

I actually like this explanation of 343. I always wanted to believe that he was God but was skeptical because he isn't completely omnipotent and omniscient. The idea that he's less powerful when in a physical form makes sense
At some occasions it's also mentioned that he chooses not to interfere at grand scale, since he just enjoys to watch his creation unfold, in whatever way it does. He is just a mere visitor at this point and don't want to disturb the "natural way" of things, much like we shouldn't interact too much with a nature reserve or park. I like to imagine his thinking like that of someone who played a building strategy game and now just enjoys watching his creation doing what they do.
@@Just_Lars If that's the case, it means that god is not benevolent, just all powerful or close to it. Otherwise he couldn't tolerate so much suffering. A god like that makes more sense anyways. One that's so advanced, understanding people would be like a human trying to view atoms with the naked eye. I guess that'd mean he isn't all powerful, but some extremely advanced cosmic entity that just goes about itself. After all, is us looking at ants so different?
@@75silverfish It's fascinating how people try to argue logically about the moral code of a being that is by definition so far beyond the human understanding, it could destroy earth with a snap out of a good intention that we would never understand anyway.
What I'm trying to say is: this discussion is fruitless. It's a nice thought experiment to challenge some hardcore "Our-god-is-the-best" type of people. But in the end, does it matter if god is all omnipotent? And if he is, do we know what moral code drives his decision? And would a destinction between god and, lets say, the scarlet king matter to us in the end? Both are powers beyond any comprehension, one just chose that we can exist a few million years longer.
Besides, with the chrstian god it really depends if you go with the first or second testament. In the first one, god is an angry, punishing god. In the second, he intervenes through his son, but the humans reject him. So he decides to basically wait till the world ends to then judge them all according to their behavior. So even there, he chose not to intervene directly. You see where I'm going?
@@Just_Lars Yes I see where you're going. It's a common norm and understanding by most people that god is benevolent. All I'm saying is there's 100% proof that he isn't, if such a thing exists anyways. So if there is a god, that isn't benevolent, and doesn't intervene, I have no reason to care about it. One that exists that would judge after offering nothing itself or be unnecessarily angry would in my opinion actually be evil, so it'd be better if one didn't exist. All I was trying to say it was nice to see a modern representation of what a god creature would actually realistically be like.

Containing the shy guy would actually be exceedingly easy, as with most strength-based entities that cannot fly - lift it off the ground without touching it. It doesn't matter whether by using air tunnel or telekinesis, I am sure the Foundation has access to both. No amount of strength will help it escape if there is nothing to apply the strength to.
Or teleport it into space.

It couldn’t really get out of there with what we see it do all the time but we know it can travel dimensions so I wouldn’t bet on it not being able to escape.

I know consistency is optional in the SCP universe... but if 096 has encountered both 343 and 682 (whose connection in turn is interesting to say the least), and all three are still around... then clearly, 096 must have come to terms in some way with the idea that there are certain observers it can't destroy. Also, the unkillable nature of both 096 and 682 is another interesting common trait. What if they evolved from a common ancestor? Or maybe both are creations of an entity like the Scarlet King or the Devourer of Worlds...

This actually answers a question I’ve been wondering for a long time about the shy guy. Was it the simple act of viewing his face that triggered him, or could he somehow sense the emotion the followed the act of peering unto his visage? I had previously theorized what might happen if somehow someone held the capacity to look upon him with no fear, no judgement, no resignation, and no animosity. Maybe his rage was a reaction to the negative emotions present naturally when a being sees something they do not like. That if someone were to view him through the eyes of a being who can simply see things for what they are and not how they perceive them to be, then he might not be flung into his state of imperceptible rage. However, if this anomalous God is to be believed, then this state of rage is truly just an unfortunate and uncontrollable aspect of its biology. One that it cannot stop and would sooner do away with if it could

I would'nt call it a deeply thought-out script. Its put together in a way that does make sense but its not written very well. Feels like this was written by a 16 year old that really likes SCP-096. The whole thing just seems like a way to make SCP-096 seem as cool and powerful as possible and leaves little to the imagination which i think doesint make for a good SCP story. There is so much pointless fluff in this story and i find it hard to take seriously when they end up turning into a cheesy anime battle.

While I'm always skeptical of 343 being actual GOD, I don't mind the tales of him acting like a benevolent god. In general, I like the stories were the SCPs comfort each other. I'd like to see more of SCP-053 (Young Girl) and 682 getting along. I want to see SCP-999 heal his broken family. SCP-423 (self inserting character) and SCP-085 (Hand-Drawn Cassy) hanging out so Cassy isn't as lonely.

A random stupid idea I just had: what if the SCP foundation created a containment team for SCP-096 that consisting of blind people? They could use the other four senses, echolocation, or other methods to monitor and contain the anomaly.
Apparently there are pictures of it out there. In some of them it is represented by a single pixel. Should anyone look it knows and will charge over there with unfathomable force.
Just simply going with the termination story as canon, seems more cool to me.

The animation on this is FANTASTIC. That flesh-growing-back animation in particular is god-tier. Just when you think that the animators have mastered their craft, an episode comes up that redefines a master craft.
It goes perfectly with the god-tier narration that this channel is known for, too! In my mind, Hunter IS the voice of the SCP universe.

I haven't started watching this yet but the artist who did that thumbnail artwork deserves a prize and for the work to be displayed in museums.
What's interesting is that SCP 096 only kills because of the pain that shoots through his body when someone sees it. It's even like it's trying to stay as far from civilization as possible.

I'd say it may be a tall tale for one reason. That last member of the hunting party making it back to his village seems insanely improbable with 096's speed.
2 things first maybe 096 was still young and he was still learning so his senses kicked in late like a baby leaning to walk their steps are delayed so for time for him to escape.
2 maybe the hunting party scattered in every direction, so the young man who was younger and would be agile could have enough time to escape because you know 096 has a tendency to clean up the corpses.

Anything that brings lore or meaning to a character that has otherwise just been treated as a unknowable and reckless killing machine is good story telling. I also like the thought of even god going "the fk is that? Not one of mine" is fun. Like as the universe expands, he's just become a spectator of his own creation. And either can't or won't interfere with it anymore.

I like when the stories explore the personalities of recurring characters. Hopefully we see more stories like this, that show another side of the characters we have been getting to know for a while.
I hate this. This feels lile a fanfiction for peopñe to lile the shy guy. Its obvious he is an intorvert who kills people out of revenge. Him "not wanting to kill" is a non canon statement for the sake of making bad fanfics. People feel.more empathy for the shy guy than for the people he killed. This is disgusting.
@@Thunderblock7889 Of course we feel more empathy for a recurring character, over characters that often don't even have names. It isn't their story, so we haven't built up an attachment to them.

I’d say that 096 isn’t evil but heavily traumatized.. from the theory that the reason why scp096 is the way he is.. is because of 1529.. the hypnotizing eyes he looked at while being tortured for years.. so he can’t forget the look of the eyes and everything that has eyes that looks at him.. he feels 1529’s eyes constantly looking at him.. so I would say the only people who can help him is 343 (temporary) or 999 (permanent) as 343 has a temporary stop of trauma when someone is around then. And 999 has a permanent stop to the trauma when touched by him

Great video, as always. Just wondering, have you and the crew thought about covering certain canons/arcs? You cover specific items, tales occasionally and VS match ups, but I haven't seen too many of these.

So the theory is confirmed that 096 does'nt want to hurt people, and when he's on his rage state he cant control himself, and after murdering a whole village, he becomes on his docile state and cries.
This was a story from 343. And sadly we don't truly know if it was fictional or not.
