Warm and sympathetic singing.more emotional and romantic than Maurane who is more formal, cool and classic and also technically more secure . Comparing a lyric tenor's interpretation with that of a baritone Martin's has been illuminating.

In Francia avevano una miniera di questi terribili tenorini che gabellavano per grandi cantanti e superbi interpreti e raffinati dicitori. Sono insopportabili. Come pure le Denise Duval…Meno male che non hanno mai valicato il Passo del San Gottardo...vabbe', poi al massimo si fermavano a Biella e tornavano indietro.
