      I work overnights at Walmart. There was a fire in my family’s hometown and i was late for work because me and my father brought them back home after the fire was gone, so i got a half point for being late for that. And i also got a half point for not working my 10-7 shift when it was originally 10-3. They changed it on me at the last minute without asking me. So i left at 3 am, got a half point for “Leaving early”. Don’t work at Walmart because they don’t care about you or your family, they just care about how you can be their lapdog. i’m thinking about quitting and leaving this company behind me!

    My mom worked there for 17 years. Back when she first got hard on it was a decent place to work for but after Sam pasted away it just went down downhill fast. The last straw was when they try to put her in makeup departments and everyone when knew my mom knows that she was desperately allergic to perfume and that department wreaked of it and everyone told the manager this and she didn't care. My mom was sent to the hospital shortly after. She was ok after but still. She got on disability a year after not related to the first incident and never looked back.

One manager will tell you that just do the best you can cause you’re new and by the end of your shift that same manager will be concerned why it took you so long!! Which one is it? Here I’m thinking I’m doing a great job and then to be told at the end of the shift that I wasn’t fast enough for them. I was in rehab (once again) with a guy about 50 who went half crazy working at Marshalls, Ross or a place like that. He said these fat Spanish illegals would come in with there 6 little kids and let them run wild, pulling all the clothes off the hangers and throwing them all over the floor. He spent all day trying to rehang stuff on the proper hanger and finding out where it goes back on the shelf. He nearly drank and drugged himself to death before having a nervous breakdown. The Walmart we went into the other day was 1/8th of a mile long filled with people that looked like they just invaded America.

    Walmart uses many small-medium USA towns to capitalize on desperate people since they drove many locally owned businesses out over the decades leaving a labor glut of people now "indebted" to slave-mart when otherwise they would have been working for more local companies with common sense human ethical standards.

Your treated like robots and the company can replace you when you have a malfunction. I felt like my brain was rotting from the inside and my soul left my body after a month working there. Having worked as an overnight stocker is the worst job I have had but it was good because my managers were great, nonetheless, some workers and many customers will do anything to get you fired because of their ego. When I worked at walmart we were expected to finish everything by the end of our shifts and we were expected to stay overtime if it was not finished, we did not have enough staff so we were basically blackmailed into staying late (if you didn't you would find your hours cut and you would be lectured every day by the manager who did fuck all every day.)
    I had to fight so often to get paid for the time I was basically forced into and I reported the company for workplace violations and got the response back of "Walmart did a personal investigation and found nothing wrong. :)"
    I'm making far less at my new job but I don't feel genuinely suicidal every single day. Unless you can literally not get any other job, don't work there.

    I did electrical work for over 20 years and got laid off due to my health. Disability is a joke. Walmart gave me a job and it depends on the management. The management at the store that I work at is cool. I listen to music while I work and just do the best I can. I do like finally having affordable health insurance and the management understands that I struggle with my health.

  • @Th33Vultur3
    @Th33Vultur3 Před 7 měsíci +1

    I've had managers that acted like I couldn't even take a 15 minute break even though I am entitled to one after the first two hours of my shift and the two hours before you go home. We have an overnight manager now that when they comes in, starts pointing and complaining on why things aren't done. I'm on jainitorial maintenance and I asked them to open up the grocery compactor and when we got there and they saw the trash that was there, they got on me for it and blamed the first person they saw basically. I told them that they need to get on the team leads and all the departments to get a manager to open it for them and stop leaving it there and passing it along to someone else and make sure it doesn't block the fire exit either. That same overnight manager I pass by personel without going in and they are so loud to a point you can immediately here them from outside the office even with the door closed and they were start complaining. If you don't want to work in your position, step down and go to another department instead of taking it out on someone else. Or better yet, find another job. Its easy to a job for the salary and not want to do work while your ass is in the office doing nothing. One of those that think they can treat employees like shit the moment they walk in. They also recently made a metal cage to put the plastics in so it can be wheeled over from the grocery backroom to the GM backroom my coworker was working it and was wonder why I was wheeling it to the other side, I told them to talk to that same manager who immediately started complaining about it and told me to move it even though I told them my coworker was working on it. I told my coworker if that happens again, a useless manager told me to do it. Now Walmart calls them the managers as coaches now. We both agreed that you gotta love it when a manager comes in to work and immediately starts being nasty and complains and loves to change the procedure. I will guarantee that when that overnight manager leaves due to getting laid off, fired or they quit, things will go back to how it was before. Always does. The only ones that win are Sam and Bud Walton's demon spawn and their family. Before my shift at 12:30 PM before a 1-10 shift on May 12, I saw $100 at a self check doing food shopping and should have turned it in and I didn't. That was my fault and I fucked up. The customer called about it and they saw the camera and I was called into the office and terminated. Forgot I had it on me, said I didn't, remembered I did and gave in to the Store Lead and the Auto Manager, who was an AP manager till a new one came in and was terminated for gross misconduct and lack of intergrity at 4:30 PM and that I was do not rehire. I was not arrested, was told to turn in my badge, vest, work phone and discount card in and was told to leave. I found a new job 2 weeks later EXACTLY and was only unemployed only for 18 days. I started orientation at my new job 18 days later. Doubt I will get unemployment for gross misconduct. I did daytime full time maintenance at Walmart. I work at a grocery store now making $15.50 an hour. I was earning $14 at Walmart after 3 years and 4 months there. I feel bad for what I did and I'm not rehireable, but at the time, I'm also relieved. Walmart was a drag and I still have lingering body pains from the job from heaving lifting from throwing out garbage into the compactors. I felt Walmart did me a favor. My new job is far different and much more relaxed. I'm NOT proud of what I did, but they did promote me to customer now. My management team was straight up garbage. Even the overnight ones. When my stepdad died from cancer on March 14, 2020 and my maternal grandmother from Alzheimers in October 26, 2020 and Covid didn't help, I had the 3 days bereavement both times plus my normal 2 days off. I can picture Walmart doing this. After I was fired on May 12, 2023, even though it was for theft and gross misconduct and not rehireable, I feel bad for what I did to get fired, but relieved feeling free. I found a job exactly 2 weeks later. And started the new job 18 days at a local supermarket. I'm earning $15.50 at my new job doing part time and after 3 years and 3 months there at Walmart starting in apparel at $11 when I started and finished doing janitorial maintenance at Walmart at $14 an hour. They took quarterly bonuses away about a year and a half ago. I worked there from Feb 13, 2019 at Walmart until I was fired on May 12, 2023! Fuck WALMART! Promoted to customer NOW and FOREVER! Management is just as incompetent as when I worked at Home Depot. I dunno which is worse, Home Depot or Walmart. I think Walmart, by a little bit, but not by much. I worked at Home Depot 7 years and 10 months there. I have to rollover my 401k from Home Depot/Walmart since it was from HD and then put to Walmart in 2020 and put into another 401k when I have the chance or they will charge me a fee a year of about $9 or just leave it there. Once I do that, I am truly done with Walmart!

    I shop on Amazon Prime. Everything is delivered the next day at the cheapest price. I don't want to play bumper carts with 600 people while searching 60 aisles at Walmart for something that either isn't on the self, locked up or already stolen. Then wait in line and otherwise waste 2 hours of my life.

    Roseville Walmart is gross, FL Walmart is much better than Roseville, or Vadnais, etc. Good thing they closed the Midway Walmart that was a trash dumpster. I don’t think you’ve actually seen the other stores in Mn, because FL Walmart is not that bad, not the best by any means, but not as bad as most.
