Great to see this review. I've built my Ange quickdraw set with the petzl express dogbone. I've been using this for quite sometime and I'm satisfied with the alternative set-up.

I use the ange s+s also in 17cm primarily for rock multipitch, it's interesting you encountered the rope side turning as an issue. For me I see it occasionally when I grab them from the pack, but practically never when climbing.
Yeah for me they’re always messed up in the pack, but pretty much every time I’ve been lowered from a climb when I look at the draw the rope side is normally all messed up

I just swamped the original rubber piece for some house hold rubber band. That gets rid of the sliding easily!
