I've used that knee to throat or neck and lower jaw. use both hands behind his head and hold him on your knee with pressure for the tap. It's a bit dirty but I'm old and weak. I call it the root canal
Hey Matt, quick question - what's your BJJ lineage? Are you Gracie or similar? Thought about going back into BJJ recently and been watching your videos. Been about 3 years but your videos make me want to go back to training
Matt, I totally agree. The biggest thing is it’s always best to bring that knee up but the thing is a lot of times they bring it across right there. I push it down I don’t go to sweep I’m going for that ankle lock.
Really? When was the last time you have seen a scissor sweep used in a high level black belt competition? I watch a lot of jiu-jitsu and I never see it. When I say I never see it, I literally mean I have not seen it used once.
I’ve had no problems with the traditional method; it’s in the coercion and movement eating for that moment where the opponent’s knees get a little too close together and their therefore their hips a little to high.
