The California businessman was recently seen rubbing a model's neck and ears with anti-burn protective cream before setting her hair ablaze. I'm a licensed hairdresser of 47 years. This is not a good idea when a haircut will suffice. This is just for show and wow. This could actually go horribly wrong. I bet a fire Marshall would have something to say. This is a great liability with a margin for error. Sending a client straight to the burn ward.
I was born and raised in the Philippines but this is the very first time I've seen a "technique" like this. Been away for a decade now but none of the salons I ever went to back home did anything close to this. This is insane!

Well he mentioned that he learned that technique here in the Philippines but we don't do that here..my grandma have a very beautiful hair and she didn't even use any kind of shampoo..the only thing she use is coconut milk and pure aloe vera from her garden she is 93 years old and still have smooth black and silky hair...

I used to have my hair singed a couple times a year- way back in the 70's. The technique was totally different from this. Small sections of hair were twisted and held out away from the head, then a small flame was taken up and down the length, singing the split ends along the length. It was very time consuming- expensive, and took forever to get the smell out of my very thick, long hair.
I’m passive af in situations like this but I don’t think I would be this stupid to let some random literally set my hair on fire and just trust that he’s not going to let it get out of control
My fave part was when the fire almost got away on him and he had to slap that comb through her hair quick!

The fire doesn’t just burn the very tip, it burns a few inches past the tip so the hair is almost even. Then they will fix it with scissors but if it is to uneven the will keep burning certain parts to make it even.

My old hair stylist used to do this but she’d twist parts of the hair and do them individually. If done properly the outcome is really nice.
