I have it. I got it with the two camera dash cam and backup camera. I like how the system works together. I run the three RCA out puts into two JL Audio amps, 4-way & Sub, with JL door speakers and an 8” Kicker L7. The pre out volt power is a non issue in sound to me. I feel like it brought my ‘98 Ranger back to life. My 2002 Pioneer had a good run till it died.

My Audio Installer recommended the iLX-507 for my Ferrari California because it doesn’t have a CD player, which I don’t need, and it goes right into the slot/bracket where the antiquated and problematic Factory head unit sat without any cutting and drilling into my Ferrari. 👍👍
And this new head unit looks much cleaner and more Factory than the Factory head unit that was in my car. Love the Apple CarPlay on this new head unit!🔊🎵🎶🎼👍👍😎🏎️Hopefully Alpine will come out with a new updated Firmware soon to allow changing the opening screen on this iLX-507!🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Hey, I’m building a custom mount for a double din and the face plate through which the stereo face/screen will protrude is 3/16" thick. Do you offer a metal cage in which the stereo can be installed for a custom installation like this?
Cutting a 4x7" double DIN hole. However, it appears that the screen itself may be larger than the standard 4x7" double DIN opening?
So would I use a single din dash kit or double din dash kit to install this head unit? Just ordered it so wanting to get a head start on shipping the hardware I need to install. Thank you.

Clock: how do you set the clock? It had clock adjust but not place to change the actual time or does it keep the time aftet its paired with an android auto device

Hey Josh. Working with 06 F250. Has a kenwood DD 6.8. Two questions. If I go with the F509 can I use my double din mount or do I need to get single din? If so what kit do I need.

How do you hook up two alpine direct connect cameras to this? The spec says it’s capable of it, but the breakout has RCA’s not the direct connect connector blocks?… EDIT never mind just got to the unboxing part. That dual direct connect breakout cable isn’t mentioned at all in alpines manual!

Would you recommend this head unit over the JVC KW-M865BW ? My main concern are the volt preout . I would like a 5volt preout head unit but is there a really a difference between one with a 4volt? I really like the features on the alpine head unit but the jvc comes with the 5volt preout.

How u get the android auto to be wireless?
So I like this headunit quite allot but I can't buy it in Europe unless I import it which would add up the cost quite allot. I was looking at the iLX-705D but it really bugs me that it has wireless apple but not android and I'm an android user.
Do you have any suggestion on a quality headunit to buy within this price range that is available in Europe (not UK)? Should I hold on for a few months to see the 2023 lineup?

I have the iLX-F511 which the same with a bigger screen. I give it 5 stars too. I think I'm going to remove my expensive DSP. I don't feel I need it anymore because the Alpine head unit does it all.
Do you know when Alpine will release the ilx-F600 series? I am looking at a 509 but I dont want to buy now if they will release a new model in 2024. Hope you can help.

Great info. I recently bought a vehicle that has this head unit and I was wondering why so many features were not accessible. The parking brake "safety feature" is the issue. Now I know enough to be able to access the setup features.
How do you do that?
@@robertalcala3507 In order to change many of the settings on this head unit, you must put the vehicle in park and set the parking brake.

So does screen size determine din size as far as width is concerned? I have a Pioneer AppRadio 4 now which I believe has a 6.2” wide screen. I’m wondering if this Alpine will be too wide
Generally single and double din are an industry standard. Most modern cars have room in the dash for a double din. Obviously getting the right trim kit for your car matters. You should be good.
I have a 2001 safari trek motor home & I bought a alpine ine w970 HD & put it in, how can I get my TV to go through it or watch a DVD from the stereo to the TV the TV is a Samsung smart tv. Any ideas thanks

Great video. Can you please help me? Im looking for a double din receiver that has treble, bass and mid if possible on one screen, kind of similar to the Alpine Halo iLX-507. Physical knobs would be my favorite but that seems impossible these days cause pretty much all these units have only an equalizer and it makes it a pain to adjust it every song. I dont want to spend $650 on the alpine for these settings alone cause I dont need a backup camera or any of the 100's other settings. If you could recommend something I'd appreciate it.

You’d be super hard pressed to tell the difference between The two that shouldn’t be a Single deciding factor. Definitely want to consider but if the 4v has other features you like then do that one.
They all suck because they're not digital...
No audible difference. The standard use to be 2v and for along time that was just fine.

No. The unit itself is too large.
Can the boot screen and wall paper be customized? IE can I load my on graphic or logo from a thumb drive

My Bugbear you can't change the Blue Buttons to a different colour, apart from that I'm pleased with the Alpine 705d 👌

Wire it without the black foot wire just tie it off away from the rest

I bought this the day the uk got it. Must be back in April. It’s been a temperamental head unit. Having to reset it weekly as the wireless CarPlay wouldn’t pick up my iPhone. Then a couple months later it wouldn’t connect at all. Finally did the software update and that sorted it but the problem persists if you have more than 1 phone linked to the unit. Mine also only picks up 2, maybe 3 DAB channels
Yeah the ilx-509 and 511 had the same issues but it all got resolved with the update. I do know that if you have a couple phones hooked up it can get a little tricky.

I just had a 507 installed in my 987, Premium install harness for Porsche is required $549.95.
Had it fitted yesterday in my 997 after the OEM head unit failed, all good only criticism the Buttons on the Front are Blue and you can't change the colour to Red etc to match my Car's interior, sounds so much better though, than the standard radio 👌

Yes metra makes a kit but it out the radio really low. You can install it above but it will have to be custom we did one two Saturdays ago and it came out great

Looks like the 507 is a US version and the 705 is European

Hai am confused between alpine 509 or 507 which one is better. Do i get any additional if i take 509.
509 is a floating screen that sticks out. 507 is double din which sits flush

Pretty sure they're all the exact same experience in different form factors.
@@jdmvette yes the form factor is wat am thinking as i havent used a floating before and also in my car it does take sum space off the vents on both sides.
@@karthyra8070 I am currently using a DD ilx-207 which is why I'm looking at updating to the -507. I don't think a floating screen looks good unless it came that way from the manufacturer but to each their own.
I have the ILX 705D and at max volume which is 35 the Front and Rear RCA go up to 5.8V not 4V as advertised and Sub channel 3.8 as advertised so for Front and Rear at volume 30 u can hit the 4v without clipping and just have to set the sub gain a little higher cuz u gonna stick with the volume 30
Also for those who wanna know u cant turn off the sub low pass and high pass the lowest u can go on Sub low pass is 20hz 0 slope and same for the high pass Dimming sucks so u just have to keep the deck at full brightness in day time and u can lower at nigh time if u want

-Maybe they should have kept the dimmer wire then huh?!
-On Android plug it in first and as soon as it syncs you should be able to just disconnect the phone and it switch over wirelessly automatically.

I got the first model they put out a few yrs ago. I returned it. Did not like the way my speakers sounded with it. I bought a Kenwood and love it.

Yes! There’s a huge difference in processing between the 407 and the 405 for sure! Not to mention the 407 only had a 5 band eq..?? This has 13 band eqs for the front rear left and right along with a 4 band on the sub. Not even close to being the same radio.

Own ilx-f511. Must admit the screen beautiful BUT my bass from pioneer 1500nex sounded waaaay better. I was hoping for better sound from stereo 2-3x more expensive. Also a huge CON it won’t automatically between 2 phones. So if my wife drive car she manually need to connect to Apple car play. Common alpine that’s total BS.. I’m kinda torn and thinking of returning head unit

You know what's best?? Buy a "cheap" 11 inch joying unit that has a optical output...ditch the rca's

Not even coverage on the camera quality input. Literally one of the main reasons to even buy one of these.
If you're plugging in your original camera, it would likely give a fuzzy picture, not because of the headunit, but because those oem type cameras are usually rubbish in most "normal" car (luxury cars may be much better in this regard). So really why bother testing the camera input? It'll be different for each make and model of car. In some case you may need an adapter too.
Cons none ? There is no optical/coax output in this unit..the dac on this headunit is not that good..

Lemme guess....NO OPTICAL OUTPUT??? In a world where almost ALL CHEAP android units have a optical out...And all the name brands don't there is something seriously wrong. How can these brands call these units "high-end"??? and "high-res" when you still only have analog rca outputs.?? I'm glad i'm running a Clarion nx807e that does have a optical out so i can go digitally into a processor...

Android Auto is actually a con, it has extremely low volume and removes all Bass. This needs fixed.

Alpine and kendwood features are always Better but Sony has much nicer design these are so ugly.
There has to be a way to keep the nissan frontiers oem mic and oem Sirius antenna!
