- Smith and Wesson only produced this handgun for 3 years, but it will always be a classic due to it's appearance in Miami Vice. It is built like a tank, feels good in the hand and will cycle anything. Thanks for watching.

I love this gun. I have 2 of them. One I bought new in the mid 80s and found another in a local gun shop about 10 years ago. I was a Miami Vice fan, what can I say :)
Portland Maine PD carried them. I have always wanted one.
I shot the S&W 745 (single action version of the. 645) in the early to mid 1990s in IPSC competition.
I'm a huge fan of the 645/745/4506 and love Miami Vice.
The 645/745 is such a reliable pistol. It really would even feed empty cases. I also proved that many times at the range.
Thanks. Same here love Miami Vice and the 645
i watched Miami Vice growing up and my dad was in law enforcement and he carried the 645 for a long time and i did inherite it , love shooting it and it's a great shooter , thanks for the great video
Wow, Thank you for the great comment. I know that gun has to mean a great deal to you.
I think Sonny Crockett switched to the 4506 after the 645.
I have one and i love her. Greetings from Switzerland.
Awesome. Thank you for commenting.
Love 2nd and 3rd Gen Smith pistols. I have the 659, 6906, and 4006. Was on the hunt for a 645, but that has been put on hold.
Yes, S&W salesmen back in the 80s would demonstrate the feeding characteristics of the 645 by racking empty cases into the chamber of a 645. And the S&W 645, in my view, is one of the finest, if not _the_ finest, .45ACP ever made. It has all the great features of the .45ACP Colt auto without the propensity to jam. If you don't have a 645, git one, by gum!
Awesome. I read the stories but wasn't sure if it was true. As you see, I tried it and definitely true. It is a great gun and probably best 45 acp ever. I wish Smith would go back to some of these models. Thanks again for the comment 👍.
That is awesome. Never seen a video on this Model. Got me drooling😁😁
Glad you liked it!
I had one and loved it!
It's a great gun, thanks for watching.
I have one of these guns, it’s been awesome! I once put 1000 rounds through it in a single day without a single jam! I did have to oil it and wipe it several times, though. 🇺🇸
It's a great gun. Thanks for the comment 👍.
need a Panama Jack outfit with this one 🤠
Yep. I need the white sport coat and the Galco Miami shoulder holster.
I know this is an older post but I just saw it and had to respond.
I love my 645. I bought it new and carried it back in the 80s on an Alaska small city pd while assigned to the Troopers. It was the first time anyone carried anything other than a 1911 and wheel guns on the city dept (you had to buy your own guns) and had an issued revolver when I was hired by the Troopers. Kwik story: I had an intoxicated person walking in the road during a blizzard and when I approached to speak with him about *pedestrian safety* he pulled a very nice, sharp and LARGE bowie knife on me saying he would not be taken alive. After seeing reason after I pointed my 645 at him and putting him in protective custody to sleep it off the next morning he told me it looked like he was looking into a 55 gallon drum when looking down the barrel from the wrong end of the 645. We got along fine after that. Police are supposed to keep you safe and protect you besides arresting if you do bad stuff. Its the way it was in Alaska.
Thank you for the comment and great story. It is an awesome gun and you can't argue with 45acp. 👍👍
Love mine at work and home...
I found one today in mint condition even the original box was in mint condition. I brought it 😊
That's awesome. You will love it.
I took a good look at it. It seems it was never fired. It was just a safe, queen.
I noticed mine has a different rear sight than yours. It is like two sides protect the site inside. I thought it was a Novak but it’s not.
I have one of these and love it. Great Video
Beautiful specimen
Thank you.
So Pretty!!
Thanks
Love it! When I first saw the video I thought it might be a 10mm. Great looking shooter my friend!
Is beautiful 😍
Thank you! 😊
My father in law has one. I was almost tempted to see if he would sell it to me.
Just borrow it, if you know what I mean.
@@kyfirearms 😂
Thank You Sir! This is a nice shooter! 👍🇺🇸 #22aday
Thank you.
Nice pistol KFW, supercool find. All you're missing is a white linen sport jacket with shoulder pads. LOL, Echo
Thanks, I had that sport coat in 6th grade and Don Johnson was the man.
@@kyfirearms good old Tubbs and Crockett, and the 10-foot Florida Alligator. I was a teenager and enjoyed that series very much. I even was able to spend a little bit of time on one of their movie sets and I got Sonny's autograph and photo. He signed it on the hood of his personal Ferrari Testarossa that he drove in the series. My parents took me to Miami for the weekend, for a getaway and our hotel that we stayed at was right where they were filming the series that week. It was awesome. They're bringing back Miami Vice and Crockett and Tubbs are playing in the show. Echo
I like it. Nice👍🏻
Thanks! 👍
Hello, the gun of Sonny Crockett in Season #3 to #5 it's the S&W 4506...
No, it was a 645. 4506 wasn't even around until late 1988.
@@kyfirearms Clint Eastwood have a 4506 in the rookie with Charlie Sheen
Wow, lucky to have such a awesome gun ! Happy shooting :-))
Thanks, I appreciate it.
@@kyfirearms I have the 4006 Smith and wesson 40cal and the 1006 Smith and wesson 10mm that 645 Smith and wesson 645 is a champion
I just got one today!!
Awesome. It is a neat gun and I really like shooting it. Enjoy it and thanks for the comment.
Now that’s a pistol all metal no plastic
Yep, all metal. It definitely helps with the recoil.
i see on gunbroker they want a arm and leg for those 645 i would love to add it to my smith and Wesson collection i have the smith and Wesson 1006 10mm and the smith and Wesson 4006 40cal
Sounds like you have a couple good ones. The prices for any Smith on gunbroker are crazy. I got lucky and found this one locally.
@kyfirearms as soon those gun shows and guns stores have them there gone quickly
Do you dress like Don Johnson when you shoot it? I’d like to see a Bren-Ten in your next video!
I'd dress like Don Johnson everyday if I could get a Bren Ten.
the only problem with this pistol is the left-hand safety de-cocker lever screw would never stay tight... Otherwise it was awesome!
It's a neat gun. Thanks for the comment.
The first 3 rounds in this video is why LVMPD in Las Vegas stopped issuing this model handgun. The flame coming out of the barrel of this gun was so damn huge, if you got into a gunfight at night you’d be flash/blinded after the first round! Great stopping power but tactically if you fired this gun in a dark environment you’d be flat out blinded after the first round because of the muzzle flash.
Didn’t those Simps realize it’s the ammunition brands that cause the muzzle flash, not the handgun ?
Which ammo brands have low muzzle flash?
Cannot find much info on these. What do these sell for these days used of course?
Should be around 600. If it comes with original box or extra magazines, probably 7 to 800. Some are more collectable than others, so it may vary. Hope that helps.
I love the design, and would like to buy them, unfortunately, where? thanks for the great video!
Thanks. It is really a neat gun. Maybe one day they will bring them back.
Is she a double action with the decok or just single with safety
It's double/single action with de cocker. Thanks for the comment 👍.
Nice pistol but i like the bren ten 10mm a little better the original Sonny Crockett gun
Yeah. Bren Ten will always be the original. They were neat guns, too bad they went under.
That aluminum checker plate WILL scratch up the stainless every time the gun gets moved and swiveled like above.
The checker plate is plastic
Only Macho Men should own this pistol… not for girly men 🌈
Macho man👍🤜
Yes 🫵 are !

Just bought one great shooting gun. Had a hard time finding magazines for it
Yes sir, love mine. I agree, magazines are expensive and hard to come by. Thanks for the comment.
Where can I buy after-mkt. stocks(side panels) for this gun? Are all 1911 panels the same? The stock panels come way up and I don't know if that's out of necessity or what. They have good grip, but they look kinda cheesy if you ask me. Bought mine 2/88 for $490.
I don't know. They are not 1911 panels. I am sure someone makes them. Thanks for the comment 👍.
