I’ve been watching F1 since 1988 every single season and this was by far the most sensational of them all. A change of generation that ends Lewis’s dominance and introduces Max Verstappen as the new driver to be beaten for many years to come.
I would have accepted that change if it was fair on track, but it was decided by human error, the FIA even admitted that by themselves
@@lucanowak8576 Well the season was absolutely brilliant as it had everything... which also includes controversy. It was uncompromisingly hard racing and sometimes on the edge or over it from both drivers. That happens with such an intense fight for the title. Both Max and Lewis made mistakes, had good luck, had bad luck. Both of them have had questionable decisions go their way or against them from the very first race all the way up until the final lap of the last race. In the end Lewis probably (or most definitely) deserved that race win in Abu Dhabi as the Merc was a rocketship with those fresh engines in the last couple of races, but over the whole season Max genuinely deserved the title.
The initial call not to let the drivers unlap was controversial as well, both Alonso and Vettel mentioned it during the SC. Masi just corrected his mistake a little too late, but the result is the same as if he would have let everyone unlap themselves immediately (confirmed by many experts like Brundle, Button etc.). Yes if there would have never been a crash Lewis would have won, but crashes and safety cars are part of F1. If Lewis would have won it would have been controversial as well, because of Silverstone and Hungary. Very well deserved title for Max

Lewis was robbed the wrong man won the race and I don’t know what race you were watching if you think Masi corrected his mistake because he never corrected his mistake that was deliberate to let Max win. The title wasn’t decided by Lewis, the title wasn’t decided by Max, the title was decided by the FIA Michael Masi. If it wasn’t for the safety car and Masi going against his rules we would have had a different outcome and Lewis would have won the Championship.
Over the course of the season both drivers deserve to win the Championship, Lewis should have won in Abu Dhabi and Lewis should have been champion. And if Lewis would have won it wouldn’t have been controversial at all, I don’t know how Hungary has anything to with Lewis when Lewis had nothing to do with the crash, Bottas was the end of that one.

@@Jordon168 Think. Bottas raced for a team called Mercedes... Hamilton did to. You say Masi was paid, Bottas was getting paid and could have done it on purpose, which is more likely than Masi being bought...
Best season ever, Excitement in every race, many battle on wet track. Two of them deserved the title. Max got it on Last lap.

One of the best rivalries of all time in F1. Congratulations to both excellent drivers for their historic achievements. Max is the 1st Dutch world champion, and Lewis is the first driver to cross 100 wins. Iconic season.

Honestly just had to come back to this video! Absolute masterpiece of a season and the video shows it all. As controversial as it was, it led up to a last lap showdown for the championship. Think of all the possible outcomes and we got this one. We should be grateful🎉

I know rosberg beat Hamilton in equal cars but Verstappen winning the championship and beating Hamilton in a red bull is more impressive and there's a video on CZcams that shows that if neither guy got bad luck this season Verstappen would have won the title by 47 points and not 8 so he's proved in every way how great of a driver he is because Hamilton will be remembered as top tier F1 driver for all of history.
How is it more impressive he beat him in a Red Bull when the Red Bull was faster than the Mercedes in 2021 (Adrian Neweys words, not mine)?

@@jensonbutton276 I know what you're referring to but unfortunately they were wrong because marshals were still on the track before lap 56 so it was impossible to let the cars unlap before that, it would've been a breach of safety procedures

Dude, Max literally made lesser mistakes,led for more laps, won more races, only times Hamilton melted the gap in championship standings was when he took Max out or with an overpowered engine on his car, nothing can show Hamilton as being the driver to deserve that title
