- This is the follow on from part 1 where I take my Sis Gen and her partner for a surfcast up Muriwai beach. It took awhile to find the right bank that would produce a few fish for us but it had been a great adventure in the end.
Glynn improved on his casting and we all had fun pulling a few fish from the surf.

Hi mate what rig would you reccomend on Muriwai?
Hi EwJ - it does come down to personal preference but I prefer to use a dropper. It's good to keep your bait up off the bottom due to the paddle crabs. I do also occasionally use a running rig but always start with the dropper and more times just stay with it, You can get the ones where you can place your hook/bait on a grove so it's more streamline to.

Im sure old mate knows how to catch a fish bro clam down teacher
My role for the day in part 1 and 2 was to help Glynn with his surfcasting - this was his first time fishing Muriwai and also fishing in surf. After losing 3-4 fish due to the slackening of the line on his down stroke and dragging the fish instead of walking towards them etc, I was there to coach and remind him which he thanked me for over the day so sorry if this wasn't calm enough for you,
