Static air on a mountain can be a sign of an incoming electrical storm, or worse, an impending lightning strike. If you hear static or your hair is standing up, get down ASAP. Glad it was uneventful for these folks!
yeah thanks I was searching for this. There's a famous picture on the internet of someones hair standing up due to static in the air. Apparently that was the last picture ever taken of the person before lightning struck.
Yup I wouldn't be laughing in this situation... They were "just" lucky... It is a sign of striking danger. And people should be aware of that instead of willing to replicate the "performance"...

If you hear static on the top of a mountain it means you are in the middle of a brewing thunderstorm. You need to get to a safe area immediately because you are at risk of being struck by lightning

my uncle lives in W. Virginia is (about 25 mins)close to a ski resort
me & my uncle enjoy going skiing(he's in a wheelchair)
they use those types of skies

Yeah so many people go onto mountains and hear the noise, they think it's cool and they record it, then they end up getting badly injured. I don't mean to sound like a concerned mother here, but check the weather forecast before you go for a hike, even in winter. Thundersnow is a thing.

That handicapped skiing is awesome! I volunteer at a place in Maine Called Maine Adaptive where they teach ppl with all kinds of physical and mental handicaps to ski. It's alot of fun if anyone is ever interested it's at a mountain called Sunday River🙂

I am definitely not an expert, so correct me if I'm wrong. I think the last video is a ribbon eel larva. They are super cool - they start out as being almost transparent, then turn blue, and then yellow as they age.
