- Iran Presidential elections have thrown up surprising results. Among the six candidates, no one received a clear majority and the two candidates will now lock horns in a runoff. Interestingly, the two candidates have contrasting views - a hardliner and a reformist. Masoud Pezeshkian, a moderate and Saeed Jalili, an ultraconservative, are the two finalists to replace Ebrahim Raisi who died in a chopper crash last month. Raisi’s death had triggered the snap elections.

If 25 million votes were cast and 5 of 6 candidates were not "moderate" , by there numbers there is about 5 million votes for other conservative candidates that will almost definitely go to the so called "hard liner"

I agree. We do not want a globalist supporter who sells Iran to the West. The Supreme Leader is aware of it. All Reformists work for foreign powers including Mojahedin Khalq or Maryam Rajavi. At the same time, I think Biden is a loser and Trump should win 2024 elections.

I can understand Why Putin acts the way he does, I am not that literate on the Chinese thought process exactly, I have to look into that. I assume to understand the Iranian govt. thought process also.
I personally think the JCPOA would help Iran mend relations with the West and with the EU. and I'd like the US to change its attitude towards many things, maybe I am just being idealistic... BUT I agree, Iran needs its nukes as a deterrent, just like the DPRK does. sadly that is the case, even though it goes against the non-proliferation treaty. I just wish that wasn't the case, but I cannot blame Iran for wanting a "gun", when the US has backstabbed so may people and broken promises before.
