These old stoves were lift up and put in place before the walls were done. Just funny that, not many builders had an after thought, this is kinda heavy and big, should not be on the second floor.
True that. This stove was in a kind of a daylight basement with no floor joists. We remodeled and wanted something a little nicer and cleaner. My in-law’s basement stove was at the end of its life (stoves get a lot of use in NW Montana) and we gave ours to them. This was a fun project. Hopefully our ramp system will work when the time comes to replace it.
