- We take a tour of the fabulous Silliman University in Dumaguete, Negro Oriental. A one hundred and twenty two year old institution with a stunningly beautiful and historical campus. I also attend the book launch by Dean of Law Florin T. Hilbay of his new book "An Introduction to Bitcoin" at the Beautiful Silliman Hall. I hope you enjoy this one Folks 'cos I did.

Jed and I had a great time showing you around campus. Thank you for visiting Silliman University ☺️
Thanks Ace, you guys were great and very knowledgeable as well. Level 5!
How well spoken these young university students are. Their accent and cadence in speaking is quite pleasing to the ears.
Silliman University is truly a remarkable institution, with a rich history and an impressive campus. The longevity of this institution is a testament to the dedication and hard work of generations of scholars and educators. And attending the book launch of "An Introduction to Bitcoin" by Dean of Law Florin T. Hilbay is a timely reminder of the ever-changing landscape of technology and the importance of staying informed in our rapidly evolving world. I thoroughly enjoyed this video and appreciate the opportunity to learn more about Silliman University and its contributions to education and intellectual discourse.
Thanks for your comment my friend.
Love the structures inside Silliman University. Built in the early 1900s during the American Occupation.
That's my school, Marshall. I grew up inside the campus. Mom was principal of the prep school :)
Wow❤❤❤❤ this was great 👍 cheers and great sights marsh
Great vlog! Silliman University is one of top Uni in the Philippines.
Great vlog Sir Marshall Butters
Watching here thanks for sharing this wonderful vedio great content stay connected fullpackage more power to your channel
seem to be a chill and welcoming institution to those who are curious with its heritage and interested to know in general, its history bit is quite interesting nice to see that they are preserving the architectural and cultural history of their campus... awakens the history buff in me.
I liked the school Siliman University
One of the best university in the Philippines
Certainly one of the most beautiful campuses.
When I was young, I've always wanted to study in Siliman University but things happened and I'm still happy with where I am now
The island or region has the most number of resident expat vloggers, and also the rapid increase from among the local ones, and it seems that only the adventurous Aussie food vlogger from Manila, who's not even into Bitcoin, gets even better than a permission but practically the invitation, and a guided tour of Silliman University, and then allowed to record and vlog the tour and experience.
U have yo visit also RED ROCK RESORT. And by the way, there r many Hot Spring places around and in mountain.
Atty. Florin also topped the bar exams and also served as solicitor general of the country.
Silliman Hall was in my mind when I suggested Hibbard Hall, but I am happy that they provided you a guided tour of the campus. Besides the U.P. Campus in Diliman, Quezon City in Metro Manila, the Silliman Campus is the grandest and best planned Philippine campus. Santo Tomas graduates might disagree with this statement, as you might surmise. I am just a proud Sillimanian, you see. :-) As an aside...The Philippine Peso is not a Fiat Currency, but most of the currencies of the world are. The upheaval coming to create a more unified financial and global economic system stems from this fact. However, there is more than ample gold in the Banko Sentral ng Pilipinas to support not only the gold standard for the Philippines but beyond that. Let me keep it nebulous for now.
A beautiful presentation,Marshall, and a million thanks from a Pilipino expat in California. I am from Cebu but a yearly visitor of Dumaguete during my high school years.👍
Where I studied from '96 - '00. Silliman "by the Sea" is one of the top universities in the Philippines. It is the first Protestant university in Asia. (Notice the Philippine flag flying at half - mast. A tribute to the late governor of Negros Oriental, Roel R. Degamo, who was gunned down in his house along with eight other innocent people on March 4, 2023. May the Mastermind meet his Karma. 😡)
Very informative 👍
Glad you think so!
So pleased to know that my favorite blogger has been introduced to my favorite and only investment Bitcoin. Great video sir
Fantastic video, Marshall, as always. Many thanks for featuring the book launch.
Hey mate, How was Apo Island?
@@marshallbuttersvlogs6880 We didn't get the chance to go to Apo. But we went to Siquijor and it was wonderful.
Silliman U is beautiful!
Hi Marshall, I saw you walking in rockwell maybe 2 weeks ago but I was shy to say hi. Anyways, I love your vloggs
Thanks Mary.
I guess you could have spent a bit more time showing off the free nosh at the bitcoin event so there'd be food in the vlog, lol
haha, it wasn't much of a spread.
Enjoyed that vlog
Marshall have you heard of Every Man Has a Story? You should talk to him.
Marshall❤🇵🇭
Keep safe
Marshall, if you are back in Manila please have a proper tour of UST again, I think they are now open to the public unlike the last time you went there. The museum in the Main Building opens M-F 10AM-4:30PM.
Good idea. Thanks.
I used to make faces at my teacher behind her back and one day she caught me and said "the next time you make a face, your face will be stuck like that forever". Well I didn't listen, made another face and now I permanently look like Brad Pitt.
In the province, if the harana gangs (serenaders) can't sing the song right, the ladies would throw urine out in the window. The Filipino traditional courtship and marriage is funny and expensive. If the bride's parents do not like the groom, they would ask for a lot of dowry impossible for the groom to provide. There is a deadline to submit the dowry and the groom only have one shot. Meaning, no dowry on the deadline, no marriage.
Beautiful university, university here in the US you just buildings, no tress nothing, Philippines is really a pearl of orient, paradise
Trees. Just building? Ru sure? Which universities have you been in the States?
How many US universities have you been to?
Hello my friend
Hi Marshall this is jun Fernandez 😊
Hey Jun!
Lots of Duma expat vloggers but hardly any of them vlog about Silliman U.
BTW, nice neck piece, Marshall.
Yep, very Dumaguete haha
No food! Oh, my!
Good video. But why don’t people remove their masks when they’re talking. Most people don’t even use masks anymore.
Uni rules, believe it or not.
...and why are you so critical about those mask?
Good news for us .
Buy Bitcoin now before it's too late.
Bitcoin to the moon
Just to be clear, I'm not advocating buying Bitcoin. I'm just interested in learning about the BlockChain as an alternate currency.
Hopefully Silliman U is not and will not turn woke. Bitcoin is about money, not making money? What good is that? Good luck to the Bitcoin Cafe, it will need it.
Sir butter, or I should I say mate, may I know exactly if you’re an American or Aussie/Australian, because you sounds an American, I can’t hardly hear the sound of Aussie in you, just a lil accent, but the American accent is stronger 💪🙂🤝may you have a wonderful day today Mr Butter
He sounds nothing like an American
@@mickelboy182 I cannot argue with you my friend, that’s what you think, peace out ✌️
I'm Australian my friend.
I thought he was from Arkansas 🙄
Remove the freaking masks.
I think this students shouldn’t be covering their faces, is it still mandatory there in the Philippines, at least they show their faces in the interview it is more legit, like it is an open arm interview Mr Butter, that way they could breath easily and speak with you and the camera with an ease, anyways it is still a good interview
Masks are mandated by the university when on campus.
@@marshallbuttersvlogs6880 thank you sir for letting me know, just keep making videos in the Philippines, I wanna see more, 5 to 6 years from now my fiancé and I planning to live there, but we’re still young, we wanna buy a lot and build a house for our future, we’re saving up sir, thank you
@@motivationontop6587 might as well do that around 2029 lmao
@@motivationontop6587 No worries my friend.
What’s with the masks? So annoying to see paranoid people
It was university policy. Masks must be worn on campus.
