I looked up once why it's called B for my students. Apparently when Maxwell published his papers he listed what he was going to talk about:
    A - vector potential
    B - magnetic fields
    etc.
and I some of those labels just stuck as convention

Your suggestion (in a previous video) to savor the problems because we can only do them as many times as we forget, was appreciated. Never heard that thought expressed before, but it's funny and certainly true. Thanks for this series.

    Your goals are three-fold:
    1. Learn the equations and what they mean and how to use them.
    2. Learn the fundamental principles and how the work.
    3. Learn how to think like a physicist.
When I studied in the past, I would focus on memorizing key equations and then remember how to quickly derive the useful ones. Most textbooks are written with this in mind, especially Griffiths.
I also thought deeply about the physical principles at work. By doing this, I learned how to think like a physicist.

I will give no spoilers on later chapters in the book!
Suffice it to say, one of the reasons why physicists thought that special relativity was correct was because it explained, precisely, where magnetic fields come from and why it relates to moving charges.

I love your videos! It’s missing 5.3.3 with all the other examples!

I probably skipped it. Or you might have a newer edition of the book.

Patience, young disciple. You'll have to wade through to chapter 7 before you can understand that.
