Michael Irvin caught 1 pass on 4 targets for 5 yards in this game and was targeted just once against Deion, where the pass was incomplete. Deion allowed 1 catch to Cowboys WR2 Alvin Harper for a 13 yard reception. Deion caught 1 pass for a 70 yard TD. Cowboys QB Troy Aikman was out for this game.
For anybody who forgot what Deion aka Prime Time aka Coach Prime was and is. Ain't to much changed in 30 years. Still very much stealing the show with his magnetic personality and talent.
Agreed. I think Kosar was actually a pretty good QB stuck on a bad Browns team but this was in his 9th season and he had been traded to Dallas two weeks before. The Cowboys had a lot of timing routs and you just can't do that with only two weeks of practice.

@@sethaldrich6902 they tried that in 96 but you can't just snap your finger and turn someone into a full-time receiver in the middle of their career. He wasn't a good route runner to be a great nfl WR but with his speed he was a great decoy/gadget player on offense .

Loser was beat up at this point in his career. I don’t think he had much practice with the team at this point. But a few years before this he was one of the best.
He didn't have to they wasn't throwing in his direction even Aikman said that on Monday night football about a month ago.He was 1994 defensive player of the year.
One play one catch for a 70 yrd touchdown on offense then on defense the receivers had more catches for less yards and no touchdowns🎉😂😂 PRIME FOR REAL and he will run back a kickoff or punt ,fumble, intercept,(when he catch it) interception(when his teams throw to him),your change, your thoughts etc.
Bernie Kosar was very old and not that good at this point. Mike got shut down okay but it was also no Troy out there. Mike and troy were different together.
Looking at this, Kosar plays like Dak Prescott, preffering the wide open target vs tight coverage. So Irvin didnt get many jump balls or passes that didnt involved getting popped as soon as the pass got near him. It was kind of like how Dez with Dak looked completely different to Dez and Romo, and i dont think his 2015 injury killed Dez, cause in 2015 Dez made on of the best catches in Cowboys history jumping over 3 to 4 Eagles defenders with Matt Cassell just throwing it up for a pick.
@QuintonWhite-tq5hd micheal Irvin in college was a physical receiver, he didn't stop when he went to Dallas. Some of his best highlights are him jumping for a catch and beating a defender.

Prime said “Irvin got 1 catch? Bet imma get me one and take it to the crib”
Going against prime with a backup Qb no chance
What about the 1992 matchup between irvin & deion? This is irrelevant because aikman was hurt
Deion caught as many passes as Irvin 🤣
Deion won this matchup but Irvin won his battles too! Would’ve been a better matchup if Aikman was out there!
DEIONS BURST OF SPEED FROM THEN TO TODAYS NFL THERE IS NO ONE LIKE HIM PRIME ALL DAY
Loved these old school Falcons Uniforms

6:10 Deion on him like white on rice
Michael Irvin vs Deion Sanders matchup is a classic
3:50 I pray for that man

Without Aikman this really isn't showing much.

Falcons should go back to those old uniforms. Way better looking.
Facts. This was their best look.
Get rid those flag football unis they've got now
Never understood why Deion wasn't used as a WR more, he would've been all time great at that position
It takes alot to play both ways even though in 96 with the cowboys he started at WR for the 1st 5 gms because of michael irvin suspension
@@Tone22845 I think they should've used him primarily as a wide receiver. Only cornerback if other team had someone unstoppable

DEION WON THIS FASHO! PRIME TIME LOCKED UP THE PLAYMAKER!
The backup QB ain't trying to thread the needle. These matchups got much better when Aikman was under center.
Prime was the best player on that field what a time to be alive back then
6:50 I bet Michael Irvin was MAD 😂 he had Deion beat for the TD that opportunity doesn’t come often 😂
If Aikman was QB that’s a TD for sure
I was gonna say the same thing
Definitely would have been a pic. 47 released his man and dropped off to Irvin.
ohhh so that’s why the cowboys told him we gonna let you play both ways .. he torched they ass w no effort 😂

Not used to seeing Newton get handled like that
Jumpy Geathers
LOL!!! You would post the game that Aikman was out. Everyone knows that Irvin was a nightmare for Sanders to cover even Madden said it.
Mike got revenge in 94.
Not really.
Mike was lining up against Eric Davis and zone coverage. Deion was lining up with Alvin Harper.

Dion won , before the game even started they knew not to pass his way.
Is that English?

Not good enough at least he didn't quit though. Damage control trying to create doubt saying that he planted the information against himself.
Dick "the Night Train" Lane would have taken Irving's headoff. Best corner the game has ever seen.
Grabbing facemask in the 50s in not real 🏈 buddy
