Before anyone says anything, yes I know I left off The Flying Scotsman and Boulder but they were deliberate. Flying Scotsman was only the two tenders and not a full model so it didn't feel right to add it. While the fandom debates if Boulder was sentient, I personally don't think so hence why Boulder wasn't added. Hopefully that doesn't offend anyone ☺️🚂🚃

Great to see all the engines' real life counterparts in one place! I didn't know some the Ertl cards confirmed the real life basis - that's neat! I also discovered recently that the "Character Cube" bonus feature from the Thomas DVDs mentioned some of the engines' basis as a fun fact, which I thought was cool of them to include. Great video as usual! (Also love how James is peering out from behind City of Truro in the thumbnail haha) :)

It'll never stop being amazing to me that all the Thomas characters were based on real engines. As a kid, finding out the Island of Sodor wasn't a real place was like being told Santa wasn't real. But learning that almost all of them did exist at one point does make me smile knowing that while Sodor isn't real, the engines are/were.
