  • When the Cataclysm struck Azeroth, it disrupted the cloaking mechanism that kept a similar building as the Shaper's Terrace hidden.
    The titans did not foresee the scenario that a member of an intelligent races discovered them there. So, they are required to perform some new tests. Marshal's Refuge was also attacked by Stone Guardians, forcing the troupe to flee and find another shelter with a small number of casualties. Williden Marshal and his team built a new camp for them, Marshal's Stand, which had some improvements when compared to their old refuge, indicating that they managed to adapt themselves to live at Un'Goro Crater.
    The area between the Lakkari Tar Pits and the Marshlands also changed, blooming with hundreds of flowers as a result of the bloodpetals. The blooming grew to such an extent that it began to throw off the natural balance in the area.

    Maybe some of you visited recently Un'Goro in Retail for the Un'Goro Madness event. I did, but I was unable to kill any elites because there wasn't anyone there. Anyway, it was nice to see Un'Goro untouched by Cataclysm but to discover the story from Classic progress. The finale wasn't great though.
    A note regarding the music in the video: I am sorry if I dared too much, but I've included the Ulduar / Halls of Lighting tracks which are played only in 2 small places, in the Titan facilities called The Shaper's Terrace. I look forward to hearing from you on this topic.

    Despite zones like Ungoro, feralas or even old teldrassil being old and by all means quite flat, they feel (to me at least) so much more like a lush, hostile jungles than any of the new zones they have added to the game. Despite valsharah or Amirdrassil being more claustrophobic and filled with vegetation and foliage, they don't really feel like jungle that much. In the case of feralas for instance, all you see is forest, you try to find anything between the trees but theres just more forest. The fog, the flat ground and intelligent placement of the few trees there are makes the zone feel way bigger than it in actuallity is. The ambient sounds also make it sound quite outlandish and alive.
    Guess it's mainly because in the old world, to get from point of interest to another point of interest (quest hub, temple, camp or any other bigger structure or change in micro biom) it felt like you had to get through the miles of this lush jungle instead of walking 2 meters to the next "attraction".

    • @brunopereira6789
      @brunopereira6789 Před 4 měsíci +2

      I don't think either Val'sharah or Amirdrassil are supposed to feel like jungles. You should compare those to Ashenvale or Moonglade instead.
      Feralas, Stranglethorn and Un'Goro are rather more in-line with Tanaan.

    • @VValkyr
      @VValkyr Před 4 měsíci

      @@brunopereira6789 even still I would consider ashenvale or moon glade to feel more like actual enchanted forest than any of these.
      Tanaan barely feels like jungle, but it's still from pre legion era so it has its own authentic feel

    • @brunopereira6789
      @brunopereira6789 Před 4 měsíci +1

      @@VValkyr Honestly I think it's the colors. The bluish/purple that can be found in Ashenvale does a lot of the work. I don't doubt an updated version would be able to feel like that as well.

    • @VValkyr
      @VValkyr Před 4 měsíci +2

      @@brunopereira6789 I think colors play a role, but mainly in the fact that most zones are unified under one color scheme and most sub zones keep that. Most new zones follow the principle of having smaller sub zones with their own unique identity.
      Think of it this way: if you have uldum or sillithus, anywhere you go there the colors and theme will be the same: desert. Same for ashenvale etc.
      But most new zones feel like in the same area try to squish in 3 other zones together

    • @brunopereira6789
      @brunopereira6789 Před 4 měsíci +1

      @@VValkyr true, but it's also true that modern zones are much larger. Azure Span fits like five Elwynns in it.
      But places like Ohn'ahran Plains and the Waking Shores are pretty much the same all around, no? With at most two distinct vibes to each.

    Now this brings me back! Can still remember the first time my tauren warrior set foot in Un'goro all the way back in 2006...
    ...only to immediately get mauled by a dinosaur, do a corpse run back from the nearest graveyard, and get mauled by another dinosaur. Impossible to overstate how savage this zone was back in Vanilla, more savage than basically any zone since!

    Dear Meisio, have you ever wondered if you could create some nice Raid / Patch music compilations? Such as Eternity's End or Eternal Palace?
    You have already put together so much, and I believe this way you could make your collection complete. I know these can be found on other channels, but I prefer your process thoughts of organising the music for example to playlists.

    Not a fan of the questing, lore, or capital city changes in cata, but the music and ambient noise in the wilderness zones totally improved.

    Hey Meisio, do you mind sharing what kind of addon/software/ingame function do you use for the camera movements to seem so 'cinematic' in-game. I mean you move it slowly, and most of the time flying, which is (at least in my) vanilla client doesn't exist (like the gm command isn't implemented for it for some reason. (yes I'm asking it particularly for the classic footages not for cata but I figured you'd see this much better chance than if I commented on a 5 year old video)
