There was no swooping. Liverpool have been on him since March. We had Virgil in his ear, aND Virgil defending Cody's growth, plus laughing at question when ManU was included. And we "needed" Cody now. Nice quiet work by FSG. Up the effin Reds!
United changed their mind and it's a reasonable one, you can't have rashford, Sancho, gernacho all preferring the left wing and still go for gakpo without selling any player first, man united did good by avoiding this transfer but still gakpo is a good buy and will do amazingly well.

Congratulations Liverpool fans! We’re going to miss Cody dearly. Being a youth player and a true ‘Eindhovenaar’ he was always a fan favorite.
His strengths are - obviously - his amazing shooting/finishing, crosses into the box and pace. His physique is great for a winger thanks to his length.
I think people might be hesitant if he’ll make it in the PL because this is a player who can be (emphasis on can) quite invisible during a match. But then there’s that brilliant cross, that beautifully placed shot in the bottom corner which gets you the result. If that doesn’t happen you might find yourself asking if he even was on the pitch.
I for one think Gakpo ís going to make it at your beautiful club. He’s a devoted, religious young man. This is very important to him, as it gives him confidence and relief. I think you’ll agree he showed the footballing community at the World Cup that he’s able to up his game, in spite of the terribly defensive play-style the Netherlands had.
Can’t wait to follow his development under Klopp! Perfect playing style for him. Just give him a few months and you won’t regret it!

I’m an lfc fan I watch the Eredivisie etc calm down he’s not that great he’s good enough for that league but Prem is diff kettle of fish. He does go invisible in most matches especially international level which surprised me at the WC

Very good kid! Humble, hard worker and an absolute team player. His biggest qualities are his bal control and his shooting abilities. He can shoot very fast and hard but always very controlled. At the Dutch national team he takes all the corner kicks and indirect free kicks because of this. Despite have players such as Memphis, Frenkie, Berghuis and Koopmeiners. He will fit in very well at Liverpool.
In my opinion he lacks ball control. When under pressure his first and second touch are often not good. After that he compensates this with his fysical strength and speed. I hope he will improve his first touches. He will have to pay attention to Thiago, he is the master.
A very raw natural talent! I am sure Klopp will turn him into a real monster over the next season.. YNWA

Looks like Liverpool are starting to look more busy in transfer windows. I feel that their lack of transfer activity, in the past few windows, has seen them open a slight gap between them and City.
A forward when 3 mids and another defender are needed desperatly. But hey its transfers right🤦♂️

You don’t have to be most skilled player to fit in the PL, we have seen that with Hazard and many other players similar, balance , speed and strength. He is got all that. Also the guy is very mature he reminds me of Van Nisterroy what I mean by that is you can see he doesn’t take to many unnecessary touches!
He also has good passing, crossing and aerial ability thanks to his height and timing. It's hard to find anything he can't do in possession. This season has been incredible for him compared to his previous season. He has grown a lot.

I am. I the only Liverpool fan that thinks when every forward is back fit ,Klopp is going to have a huge problem with selection and keeping the players happy , as well as that the money would of been better spent in the aging midfield.

Over thinking it a bit to be honest, firmino is aging possibly on his way out and you need 5 quality forwards if you going to compete across all comps, which is what we will now have. As for the midfield, just be patient I’m sure one will arrive this month with another in the summer
What your missing is Gakpo is 6'2 ,he's both footed ,is a great passer and has a great shot from distance ,he is good at dribbling.He is very similar to Bellingham .
He will be moved to midfield when Diaz or Jotta is fit.If we sign Bellingham, they would be the best midfield in the world.
You would then have Fabinho , Henderson and Tiago to play defensive midfield or interchange in the central role.No need to buy a defensive midfielder 👍

The problem is his goals mostly came from the left wing position, and LFC already has Diaz, Nunez, Jota, and Carvlho sharing the same position full-time or part-time. Nunez and Jota can play the center forward position, but you also have Firmino there.
