  • This video is a simple introduction to the weird and esoteric alphabet soup that is interstitial lung disease. The focus is on pathology. The focus is on usual interstitial pneumonia (UIP), the pathologic basis of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF).
Dr. Sanjay Mukhopadhyay is a medical doctor (pathologist) who diagnoses lung diseases such as lung cancer, mesothelioma, infections and interstitial lung disease by examining tissue samples with a microscope. He is the author of a textbook of lung pathology published by Cambridge University Press. He also posts freely accessible educational material related to pathology and lung diseases on Twitter (@smlungpathguy), Instagram (@smlungpathguy) and Facebook (his professional Facebook page is open to all). I begin eagerly to see this video, because it is a challenging topic. The quality of sound and picture is not perfect, making following the talk difficult. It is a bit unorganized. A new edition of this video would be helpful.
