What up brotha, I had a question. I work for a city agency. I have benefits and retirement but my goal is be a owner operator. Itâs gonna take me a while to save that money for a semi truck. I got a offer to work for someone that pays per load in the trucking life style and I do have my CDL and have experience but I feel like Iâm not going to get to my goal by being there in the city. So my question is would you leave a city job and become a truck driver or stay and save up for a truck? Just wanted advice from someone that know the business
Hey, when you first start your truck, click it to the on position and let it click through all of the systems youâll hear it go click click click and then turn it on. It will turn on much smoother if you do that.
I love Peterbilt and Freightliner plus I can't wait to be a truck driver and that is a nice truck bro ik trucking companies always have better looking vehicles then any other company and I do landscaping and man those drivers are horrible at driving trust me those trucks was nice looking and then the drivers beat them up but anyway I might do l tl ik it may be harder than otr but I want to be home every night and I heard ltl makes way more than otr But have fun trucking and stay safe out there

@@thepositivelyfe8114 well I only said that comment because I have seen a lot of manual 18 wheelers with clutches and saw that his did not. It much be just a company thing, but it does make me want to be a manual truck driver so you have something to do while driving.
We only use a clutch to start or reverse.. 96% of the time we float it.. Alex still needs alittle work. Btw, you can float a 5 or 6 speed manual car as well rpm up to 2500 - 3000

Get your license in the meantime, after the three-year mark things become easier.

Try CRST they hire anyone with any record
As a truck driver, do you have to buy a truck for yourself or does the company give you a truck to use while you work for the company?

It all depends... usually you start driving a company truck. Unless you go out and do owner operator then you buy your own equipment

How are you shifting without pressing the clutch ?
Itâs called RPM responder thatâs using it with the wind velocity
Watch the rpm. You know where the truck likes to shift and just let off the throttle.
