Okay 😒 I’m sure Marina Bay Sand and many of Singapore’s land reclamation also built largely using Cambodian sand and most of them bought from unidentified sources without Cambodian government recognition. Maybe CNA should do a report about these unethical purchase of white sands?

You don't need to ask permission when reclaiming land within your own sovereignty unless it clearly impacts another nation. It is just an overbuilt (speculation bubble). "houses are for living in, not for speculation" - xi jinping. Today China is a country of homeowners with more than 90% of households owning homes (87% in urban and 96% in rural China) (Clark, Huang, & Yi, 2019). They don't have the funds to complete the project in the first place so they build to resell it to another investor hoping to make big profits. When things went south they all fled. The problem is nobody will want to pour investments into these poorly built buildings. It's better if they tear all of it down and restart over. As a Cambodian seeing those unfinished building literally ruined the whole city's beauty. Sihanoukville use to be a beautiful beach city with beautiful beaches and few high rises mostly hotels, casinos didn't exist at that time, but now there're hundreds of them and most of them aren't even finished when the Chinese left. And I hope the government do something with those casinos and unfinished buildings by remodeling them into something else maybe like malls, apartments, or an entertainment centre.

Cambodia country is known for the Great Khmer Empire Civilization. Ancient Khmer people were living in peace and prosperity . Since ancient histories Khmer Empire were attacked and seized Khmer outlying provinces on a massive scale from few neighboring people .
Sihanoukville was the gems island of Khmers native and its people and nations. Our King Norodom Sihanouk was one of he’s favorite retreat spa during he’s leisure time. That’s why the Cambodia nation name this location as Sihanoukville . Sihanoukville were riches in minerals and known for its plentiful natural resources green landscape with a white sandy beaches full of treasure as forestry , seafoods the native Cambodians make their living by fishing’s and merchandise that help them to sustain their lifestyle.
But since the investors as China were investing and taking advantage from our native people. These poor and vulnerable Cambodians are lifeless they receive daily threat to give up their natural habitats without receiving anything in return the Government display these populations on a remote area mostly end up homeless as you can sees the images . Sihanoukville has reputation of a paradise island with its natural wildlife habitats but no longer exist .😣😓🇰🇭🇰🇭🇰🇭🇰🇭🙏🙏

I have donated plenty of cash to young kids begging in the middle of the street where they can be killed any second from passing cars just for any little cash they can take. The US has provided about $1 billion to Cambodia since 1992. From 2010 to 2019, the majority of US aid went to health and population, governance, and education. In 2021-2022, USAID programs in Cambodia helped nearly 120,000 people economically, including $50 million in carbon credit sales to help indigenous and underserved communities.
These aids are targeted at the locals and not the elites so it doesn't make headlines. But it's crucial to meet the UN SDG goals.
