There is an inaccuracy in this statement. The protests have been planned for two months. It was supposed to unite the prodemocratic voters in the day of the 34th first free election anniversary in Poland. The recent law only exaggerated the magnitude of this march.

That's true, but this has nothing to do with the law they're talking about. Also, if there's a coalition of two or three opposition parties, they will win the election and this is what the ruling party fears, which is why it's creating this illegal whip against the opposition.

This is wrong what you claim that the opposition in Poland is split because the opposition parties in Poland are largely united in the left-liberal political coalition Platforma Obywatelska - PO (Civic Platform). There is a similar political coalition with the right wing Zjednoczona Prawica ZP (United Rights). The right wing ZP will also win the upcoming elections and will most likely rule in a coalition together with the Konfederacja Wolność i Niepodległość (Confederation Liberty and Independence). Basically they're going to appoint a commission to research Russian influence in polish politics since 2007. In 2007 current govt lost power to current opposition who ruled untill 2015.
This commission can ban people from being in charge of public money without a court trial, which is unconstitutional. So basically ban them from running in elections? The law is vague.
It's also unspecified what exactly is Russian influence and up to the commision to decide. So they can take anything positive someone said about Russia years ago and eliminate them from public life.
So they can basically ban opposition leaders from running by calling them Russian agents.
Or at the very least get a powerfull tool to call them Russian agents in public/party media.
It appears that way at least, given how this law is phrased and what current govt did in the past.
Everyone wants to get rid of Russian influence but it seems like it's only an excuse for attacking opposition in elections year.

Sorry for my poor english. I'm Polish. it was an election rally of the opposition party. with the controversial name "anti-government" was organized by the opposition. it is not a grassroots and automatic movement, an expression of dissatisfaction by society. I do not identify myself with this election rally, even though I am not a supporter of the current government in Poland. An election rally of an opposition with an interesting name.

I found it almost impossible to follow the broken, rambling explanation of the ''expert'' who was required to explain in simple straightforward terms what the putative Law did and why it was wrong.
If an expert cannot describe something in understandable terms it is tempting to assume that they do not really understand it.

To govern, you have to win elections. Demonstrations in the streets are not enough. For now, the opposition is losing in the polls. The ruling party has more support. The ruling party has support because it has taken care of ordinary people, bending to the fate of the poorest. Besides, Poland's economic growth in recent years has been the highest in history. What you are observing is just a normal political struggle between liberals and conservatives. I am a conservative, so I will vote for the ruling party.

I'm also a conservative because social harmony and order are important to me, that's why I value highly the rule of law, which ensures order and predictability, and tolerance which ensures mutual respect and peace in a society. That's why I will never vote for the ruling party which disregards completely the two things mentioned above that I value so dearly!

Is this what a democratic country looks like to you - that only people who share the same political views are admitted to the conferences of Donald Tusk's new government? these are Belarusian standards that the questions at the conference are already predetermined. And anyone who thinks otherwise is fought and destroyed. Donald Tusk recently said in an interview that Poles with other right-wing views are a problem for him.
