- This video is a complete drug review of tirzepatide (Zepbound), the latest FDA-approved injectable weight loss medication for obese and overweight individuals. Tirzepatide is given as a once a week injection under the skin. It is the first “dual-agonist” weight loss drug because it mimics two incretin hormones in the body, GLP-1 and GIP. In a large clinical study involving non-diabetic obese patients, tirzepatide at a dose of 15 mg weekly demonstrated an 18% reduction in weight compared to placebo after 72 weeks of treatment. The dose must be slowly titrated upward to reach the target dose to reduce the incidence of gastrointestinal adverse effects. The cost of Zepbound is $1060 for a one month’s supply. Patients who are commercially insured may be eligible for a discounted price.
I had almost no side effects and have lost over 50 lbs to date , a year
Did you eat healthier right away and maybe that's why you didn't have any side effects? I'm getting ready to start this and I'm a little worried about the side effects. I don't eat much already and not a lot of sugar. Did you start slow and go higher in dose??
It just came out in December though, so how have you been on it for a year?
Congratulations!
@@maggiemae6867 How have you done on Zepbound? I see your post was two months ago. I’m a bit mixed on taking it.
I've been on Mounjaro for 3 months (just starting my 4th month). No side effects and have lost nearly 30 pounds. Very frustrated about the cost involved! I'm on Medicare and I'm NOT diabetic; therefore, I have to pay full price for the prescription. I just wish Eli Lilly would help out with some kind of co-pay!!! My blood pressure is down, I'm not longer officially "obese" and on the way to being a much healthier person!!!
Eli Lilly DOES help out. Go to their website immediately and sign up for savings card. It brings the price down from $1200 to $550. You might have to switch to brand Zepbound which is exactly the same thing as Mounjaro. Zepbound is the one for obesity.
does that mean you are taking it continuously once a week over several months? I am interested in knowing for how long I can take this before I take a break
Retatrutide is now also available. Contact me for details.
Great information thank you!
Thank you!! Very informative. I didn't even know about the zepbound Savings program. I'm definitely going into this more informed.
I’m glad the info was helpful!

Thank you for watching my channel!
The medication is just too expensive🤨
Its on backorder for months now and no one can get it. DOn't count on finiding it at any pharmacy.
for how long can I take tirzepatide before I need to take a break?
Side effects are BRUTAL!
What were your symptoms like? Do you have a gallbladder?
Yes me too
I tried Saxenda and had horrible anxiety attacks. My anxiety is linked to my hormones. Do you think Tirzepatide would work better for me?
What happens if someone who is not obese takes Tirzepatide?
Side affects are absolutely the worst not sure I can do this been I. Bed for 3 days
Hi why is that if you don't mind me asking ?? My stomach started hurting been on day 3 on abdominal pain
I am in 2.5 of Zepbound. It is my 3rd week and haven’t noticed much of a difference in my appetite or cravings. Is that normal at this dose? I had been on Wegovy for only one month at the starting dose and wasn’t hungry or having any cravings. I couldn’t continue the Wegovy due to the supply issue. Also, thank you for this very informative video.
The 2.5 mg dose of Zepbound is for treatment initiation and not for weight loss management. You will probably need to titrate the dose up to at least 5 mg to achieve a response. It’s always best to ask these questions to your prescribing doctor to be sure in your specific case.
@@thepharmeztutor716 thank you so much for your response and this excellent video ☺️
Same for me. I just finished my first month and haven't experienced any wl or side effects really besides fatigue and headache. I just moved up to 5mg. After my first week still nothing. Trying to remain hopeful but for this price I better see something soon.
what if I no longer have a thyroid?
I no longer have a thyroid. Mine was destroyed by radiation ablation after Graves’ disease. My endocrinologist did prescribe me outbound did not see any reason not to.
My sister is taking this medicine - she is down about 15 lbs in 2 months BUT most of the time she is on the sofa SICK... She feels so bad she can't do anything for 3 to 4 days after the injection then she's OK, injects next and bam she feels awful for 3 to 4 days. How can she overcome this? Please help...
A lot of water daily. Lifting weight and eating clean
Try doing 2 shots per week instead of all at once. Sunday and Wednesday works great for me as long as they are 3 days apart
What do you mean two shots per week.
Does this work better than semaglutide ?
Apparently so. It works faster results losing weight and less harmful side effects to nome for some I'm going to try to get on it soon
