Tampa woman says noise from neighboring car track is 'unbearable'

- Julie Matteson has a collection of recordings, which she said are of the sound of high-performance cars speeding around the track next to her Tampa home. “The burst of noise is like zoom, and then the building even louder," she said. Matteson said she recorded one on a recent Sunday morning. “You are talking about cars that are over a hundred decibels and full-on race track cars I’ve seen being taken in there,” she said.
Stop going fast on the street take it to the track. Track gets built, its too loud shut it down. 😂
Who signed off on the permit to build a track in a residential area? Why?
I'd like to think it was somebody who thought it was finally time for it to go this way. Countless tracks - and GA airports - across the country that were built decades before any homes existed nearby have been shut down because people moved in and immediately started complaining.

I’m a car enthusiast but I don’t understand why the track was built there? There is plenty of land out near Keel Farms in Plant City or the Temple Terrace - Wesley Chapel area. They selfishly wanted to be inner city Tampa.
Because when you have money you do what you want.
Enclave should buy her noise mitigation windows. For what they charge they can easily afford it.

That’s cool. I’m sure it would be frustrating. Try to get the track to pay for double glass impact windows. It would help a lot, but not completely. I’m surprised they didn’t make them build a dirt berm there.

I live 2.5 miles from Iowa Speedway, and the cars there are louder than the ones driving by on 1st Avenue (the main drag), which is only one block from me. I can't imagine living right next to it.

Never mentioned the noise level *inside* the house, hint hint. No details about how frequently, day or night usage. On the front porch audio sounded fine, and no comment from the track on if they would settle for *just* buying her the windows... That's another hint.

Or just actual loud noise because the frequency at which they have events is well within Hillsborough ordinance for noise for one and for two this isn’t any different than people racing vehicles up and down 75. I sense a great amount of jealousy from most who are angered by this racetrack being here.
If home values skyrocketed it's time for her to sell, pocket the cash and buy a nice quiet home somewhere else. It's clear this lady won't be content with any level of track noise

Thats terrible. Loud cars are an invasion of our freedom to peace and quiet in our own homes. I dont live next to a race track but these after market mufflers are insane, all hours of the night. Sorry, rant over.
I'm with you. Loud mufflers are an invasion of privacy, disturbing the peace, and harassment. They literally hurt my ears ( I have peripheral neuropathy). People who drive with loud mufflers are selfish jerks.
I don’t think it’s the loud cars. I think people are really bothered that people with money are deciding to have fun with it and im sensing jealousy.

My comment was sort of ironic. I remember when air breaks were illegal in residential areas. Downshifting could have caused a ticket. Noise ordinance was a thing. Your hobby and need to be looked at interferes with people's right to peace and prosperity. I think the racetrack is fine, it's a place people with that need to be noticed to gather. But they need to buy the neighbors houses since they didn't live up to their promises.

Time for her to move. The tracks going know nowhere. She wish's she was the tax base that property is and she'll always lose. They might buy her new windows but then her greed will kick in and it's not just windows she need's/want's/feels their responsible to add. They lied to me about how loud race cars are because as you can tell, she's new.
Her greed did kick in when all the neighbors tried getting extreme amounts of money from the owner of the property thinking just because a track is here they’re entitled to some money. That’s not how it works people.
