  • Staying near the Kyoto Station area gives you easy access to visit all historic temples, shrines, and traditional neighborhoods because Kyoto Station is the central hub for the Shinkansen trains, local trains, subways, and buses. You can also do a lot of day trips from Kyoto if you hold a JR Pass. For this reason, staying near Kyoto Station is more convenient if you plan to visit Higashiyama District, Gion, Arashiyama district, Fushimi Inari, and many other regions in Kyoto.
    In this video, you will see my tour of Daiwa Roynet Hotel Kyoto Ekimae, which is just a 5-minute walk from Kyoto Station. You will see the area for yourself as I walk from Kyoto Station to Daiwa Roynet Hotel Kyoto Ekimae.

    Kyoto is awesome. $120 is cheap compared to what we pay here in the US.

      You can find cheaper hotels in the Kyoto station area. It is a convenient location if you plan to use public transportation to visit other districts such as Higashiyama, Gion, and Arashiyama.
      If you are coming from Tokyo and you have a JR Pass, you can take Hiakri Shinkansen train to Kyoto. If you don't have a JR Pass, you can take Nozomi train to Kyoto. When you arrive at Kyoto station, you can use the central exist.

    GREAT video! Very helpful to see how far the hotel is from the Train Station. Nice to see how the room looked, as well as the bathroom. It was also helpful so see the other amenities such as the laundry and breakfast area. Great job! Three quick questions: When you enter the hotel from the street, is there a ramp so you can easily move your luggage to the hotel or only steps, as I saw in the video. For the breakfast area, is this only for breakfast (i.e. open 6 am to 10 am) or do they also serve other meals? Plus do they only serve a Western style buffet or do they serve more traditional Japanese food. Would appreciate your help since we're going there for 3 days. Thanks, Ron

      Thank you for the feedback. I don't remember seeing a ramp but the hotel staff can help you if you need their help. The restaurant serves only breakfast and it is a mix of Japanese food and western style food. Have a wonderful trip!

    I stayed at Hyatt Place Kyoto last week 4 days. $75 USD per night. Much bigger room and full buffet breakfast. Laundry available.

      Awesome! Prices fluctuate a lot depending on the season. February is considered off season and prices are much lower during that time.

    I will stay there but wonder if there any other way to enter the reception without steps as I have knees problem, by myself a few steps will be ok but with luggage (thought I will not have more than one) it may scared me a bit!

    • @WandererBell
      @WandererBell  Před rokem

      There are a few small steps to the reception and there might be another door leading to the reception but I don't remember if the other door has steps or not.
      As far as the luggage, the reception staff can help you with that. You can call them when you reach the entrance door and they will help you.
