The likes of the Ninja 650, YZF-R7, CBR650R etc. Will have to be improved to be competitive. So as a whole, this bike will make the entire middleweight naked/sport class improve a lot at once!

    Thanks for the thorough and honest review in real world conditions, Zack. To your early comment on the hazard lights flashing under emergency/sudden braking, this is a regulatory requirement in Europe to indicate that a driver (normally) is heavily/emergency/suddenly braking and not under normal, progressive braking. As a Canadian in an area with the worst drivers I've encountered after living internationally in many countries, I wish this safety feature would become a North American/Canadian requirement as well.

    • @f1hotrod527
      @f1hotrod527 Před 3 lety +2

      @Last_Raven My comment was stating that the 600’s used to be more sensible and cheaper. And 600’s did not have electronics back then because they did not exist. The 600’s of the 90’s and early 2000’s were still cooler than these new middleweight bikes. Screaming inline 4 will always be cooler than a parallel twin.

    • @f1hotrod527
      @f1hotrod527 Před 3 lety

      @Last_Raven it’s is not a sports bike with slightly more budget components and slightly more comfortable riding position that a liter bike, ohhh wait that’s exactly what it is. It is very similar to a CBR600 from the late 80’s through the 90’s.

    • @f1hotrod527
      @f1hotrod527 Před 3 lety

      @Last_Raven yeah sure. Everyone hated all sports bikes until the fireblade. They never sold a single one. And this Aprilia in no way captures the spirit of the 600 super sport bikes.

    • @f1hotrod527
      @f1hotrod527 Před 3 lety

      @Last_Raven they sold because many people liked them. They sold after the fireblade because many people liked them. And more people buy cars because many people want high tech and purchase cars because of it not in spite of it. I like how you take a sub section of people and apply their tastes to every human on earth. The fact is 600’s became too focused, to expensive and too impractical. But most people are going to buy the most cutting edge bike because people want what they perceive as the best. Now some manufacturers like Aprilia are coming back to more practical, livable and cost effective sport bikes, just like the first 20 years of the 600 class. I myself find the 4 cylinder 600’s more intriguing than these parallel twins because an inline 4 is more special . I think bikes like the CBR600 F4 were the sweet spot in middle weight sort bike design. Those bikes also looked cooler than modern sport bikes. Whatever, ride what you have and have fun Last_Raven.

    Being a half cut from the big boy V4 I'd say this engine is more special than any other parallel twin . Also the wings in the fairings are there to channel hot air way from the rider, so that you Cali boys don't cry about ball sweat during the summer.

      @@touchles2007 Hey Dan! I'm 6 months in and I love this bike. Put 3400 miles so far. As for something I wish could be better.... that's very tough. The bike has everything that fits my needs so nothing really stands out. There's that known flat spot around 5k rpm in second gear. I've learned to get around it by sifting into second on higher 1st gear rpms. That will get fixed once I get an exhaust with custom mapping.

      I guess you gotta be more careful when it rarely rains because the road is fuller with dust and oil, maybe also less made to evacuate water well. I've ridden more under the rain then under the sun personally because I'm getting my license in The Netherlands have started before winter so that's gonna be a nice change when I have my bike and license this summer eheh
      His riding on the highway and the way people drive fucking stressed me tho, everyone just in a random lane, trucks on a left lane sometimes, him changing lanes just like that and passing to the right... I def don't want to live in the US just for that and Europe's roads and drivers seem more than fine when I see that lol

      @Vanessa Xoaxlooking into it more they said they have no plans to make another street legal supersport bike because they have no place being on the street and if they did make a new higher cc sportbike it would be a track only bike. I'd still like them to make a 650 class sportbike with a more relaxed riding position similar to the r7 yamaha is rumored to be making with the mt-07 engine but it doesn't seem likely to ever happen.

      The R7 has been offically confimed but if they want to challenge the RS 660, Yamaha should make more than just deliver a sport version of the MT-07. There is also a rumor about a Ninja 700R with 95hp. It seems Aprillia has opened the way to something new with the RS 660.
