The only real hazard here is sitting in lane 2/2 for no good reason, then sitting in lane 2/3 for no good reason at the end of the clip. If you weren't insistent on holiding people up, all of the time, you might find the frequency that people 'tailgate' you reduces.

      SHORT SIGHTED LANE HOGGING HYSTERIA
      I WAS OVERTAKING
not like the Mercedes driver who got less than e second behind a vehicle before changing lanes to overtake
Also if I remember correctly the tailgating van changed lane, varied speed & tailgated so much that I overtook it twice
What about the inconvenience caused by drivers in the left hand lane behind vehicles signalling left?

@@stephenbagwell8275 "What about the inconvenience caused by drivers in the left hand lane behind vehicles signalling left"
      - This makes zero sense. There is no inconvenience caused to anyone if you are behind someone signalling left.

@@stephenbagwell8275 If you had any driving merit you'd have worked out the Merc was gaining on the Clio ages ago, let off the throttle anticipating its overtake. Not that this matters as at the point the Merc pulls out, you were more than 2 seconds behind it, so it really shouldn't have been an issue for you to let off and build some space. If you're getting hysterical over this, hand your license in. It's genuinely scary that I have to share the roads with people like you who are 1 (very) mild inconvenience off of an aneurysm.
The van's (and any other vehicle's) speed shouldn't be a concern to you. Make sure you overtake properly and adjust your following distance accordingly, on clear sections of your other videos it's very clear that you're not the best at keeping a consistent speed either. Finally there is no inconvenience of someone signaling left in the left lane. They're only going to move left. If you are driving at a safe distance and speed then you'll have ample time to overtake.

@@jameshoggisthebest of course was anticipating that the Merc would overtake the Clio but why did it get so close behind it?
Nothing the Mercedes did caused me any concern until it braked down to 60 in an over reaction to hazard lights that were nothing to do with him
how can I safely change lanes with a van close behind me
What’s scary is that the Merc braked to 60 mph in the middle lane which you haven’t spotted
I can’t even cross the road sometimes because of drivers overtaking vehicles signalling left

@@stephenbagwell8275 It's embarrassing, like really embarrassing you have to be told this. Left signal and move across when the gap is big enough. Consequently if you spent more time in lane 1 you'd find people traveling at a higher speed have more chance to go past you and have no need to stay behind you. I saw the Merc breaking, but he had his hazard lights on, so by your warped logic, it therefore wasn't a problem as you should have magically inferred his intentions because he had his hazard lights on. (I hope you understand how ridiculous you sound now)
I don't understand how you crossing the road has any bearing on traffic moving in the same direction on a duel carriageway.

A van appeared to be too close behind so I couldn’t change lanes & I was overtaking a big truck
It’s called exasperation at the lack of knowledge about hazard lights. They’re not much use when drivers leave their headlights on or foot on the brake pedal

@@stephenbagwell8275 It's quite ironic that you are exasperated at the lack of knowledge about hazard lights, yet you used them because you thought a van was too close behind. If that's the case, carry on as you normally would and move to the left at the first opportunity you can.
Using your hazards in this situation is NOT what they're there for.
As for the foot on the brake pedal thing, I agree with you on that. Especially when it's dark and the increasing brightness of LED brake lights it can be quite unpleasant in traffic.
