I wouldn't want to go for straight orange, but a vintage sort of dim amber would be perfect. Because using it at night is actually pointful to a certain degree. So much so that I was just tempted to cut out an ND filter for the screen instead lol.
Thank you so much for this little guide, all my minis are getting color backlights in addition to their battery replacements and flash storage! Edit: I've done 3 so far without breaking one thanks to you!
I’m just gonna use a cheap postit note that matches the shade of my iPod 😭 it’s so thin that I can see through it before I’ve put it in. Hopefully I don’t wreck my iPod!!! I got the battery and flash storage, now I just gotta put it all together. I already modded one, so this one should THEORETICALLY go better, but I’ll see what happens lol.
Thank you! Dang that's unfortunate; I've found these iPods are wayy too easy to break sometimes, especially with the fragile battery and hard drive connectors, I too have broken many a Mini whilst learning about them.
Hi i wanted to know it's possible to replace the LEDs on the display, for I'm seeing mine is finally going to die on the use, so want to know it's possible and know what LEDs i need to get.
yes, i did a few back in 2013 - only for one of the two lcd variants the mini used, the ones marked with "made in thailand" can have their smd leds swapped out
I've never tried this with a 4th gen, only the Mini so I can't say for certain whether it would. Having said that if I ever get my hands on one I'll for sure give it a shot :)
That's a lot simpler that I was expecting. I plan to do this with the classic 3rd gen, to match the buttons, and I have found this extremely helpful.
It's gonna look like an m•robe lol

I saw a site that does this but you had to pay 40$ and ship your ipod off to have it done, glad to know i can do this myself :>
Seems like an old Siemens phone 😍

Estupendo !
Great Video, months ago, I had 2 minis but for some reason I destroyed them while "modding"😝

@@senpaiskidz4445 I watched the dankpods tutorial and haven't broken one (yet) and hopefully I won't break one
Nice

Would this work with other monochrome gens? Or only with mini?
if it works with others, hoo boy amma go get a 4th gen.
