I really enjoy the character progression with Bella and how John patiently gives her space and opportunity to develop her love for him. *sigh* I love the song you chose as well. I added it to my Spotify and will always think of this movie when I hear it.
Ah, I wish Bella and John and the Boffins had their own movie! Forget the rest of the characters in Our Mutual Friend. John and Bella's story is one of the best in literary fiction!
Haha yeah I love their story. But it does make me appreciate John even more to see how he helped everyone else and really was a mutual friend to all the characters, especially in the book.
Thank you so much, Carolyn! Our Mutual Friend is one of movies that I will rewatch (from time to time) till my days here. I truly fond of both versions, this (1998) and earlier (1976). And I've read the book (and possibly will reread it at some time). And I somewhat more fond of Lizzie, maybe because of her salvation of Eugene (and also because of both actresses, Keeley Hawes in 1998 and Lesley Dunlop in 1976). And, certainly, Jenny Wren story (alas not detailed in both series compared to book) is truly touching.

the first time I watched it on Amazon video but then I found out that it left out some parts so my mom just ordered the dvds from Amazon or eBay or something :/ it's worth it though
