man i remember back in the day before it was mt olympus it was big chief go kart world 2. they used to have 2 huge go kart parks but tore the original down, and kept some of the second park at mt olympus. You used to be able to just walk in and pay for tickets to ride just the go karts. now you have to pay for the full them park ticket.
It's because of structural damage due to improper maintenance, it's pretty old I've been going their since I was a little kid, believe the horse is at least 40 years old.
My parents used to sit through these time share meetings there, we got to go for free and stay in the resort for free. Some of my best childhood memories

I rode those go-karts back in the day when it when through the horse. The cars seemed to struggle slightly climbing the hill so Imagine that and upkeep just made them think it wasn't worth it anymore. Plus it got really loud and bumpy riding on the wooden boards.
I fondly remember going there when I was younger. I used to be scared of the big roller coasters, but if I went to the park again, I would try them out after so long.

Jacob is rode Hades last Tuesday. It was intensely fast and extremely painful. I couldn't wait for it to be over. The go carts are horrible. The only good thing about the park is the water park. The wave pool was awesome. The slides were fun too. My neck still hurts from Hades.

I've been to the Dells multiple times but have never stopped by Mount Olympus. Looks like you had fun. I remember riding the trogen horse go cart back in around 99 or 20. You used to ride thru it, not sure what happened. Next time film a walk-through the water park, your viewers would be amazed how massive it it!
Just tried looking up why it was closed, the trojan horse bit, i think there was an accident on the ride so they closed that bit off, i watched another video on a channel and this guy was on the ride and he went up the trojan horse, i counted at least 3 carts spinning out of control and the carts seemed to go very fast on the tracks going down from the horse, as they had a metalic surface on it.

Water rides are my favorite, it's like 2 rides in one. You get cooled off plus the ride. I understand what you mean with the camera though. I've never been on steel roller coasters but, I love the wooden one's. I have the need for speed. I'm sorry you didn't seem to have much fun there.
If you ride at the front of a roller coaster there will very noticeable difference in the smoothness of the roller coaster. The front is much smoother.
What? No Minatour Maze? No River STYX boat ride? Oracle themed fortune teller, Greek themed Amphitheater, and Hades would be an awesome subject for a dark ride. Don't get me wrong, the Zeus and Hades themed coasters look like fun, though I share your disappointment about the Trojan horse go carts. Probably a liability issue. But Greek mythology leaves plenty of room for creative rides and attractions.
Used to love wooden roller coasters. Cant do them anymore. Loved the 2nd roller coaster Hades but felt sorry for the guy sitting beside you. Your screaming either made his day or annoyed the hell out of him. LOL Keep Safe❤Keep Well❤
It goes underneath of the parking lot. You can literally Park directly above where the track goes underneath and then when you ride on the roller coaster you can tell everybody around you that you see your car if you're into that sort of thing LOL

Its been at least 15 years since I was in the Dells. I thought a part of the Trojan Horse had a wooden track. Maybe im thinking of a different track...
Just a tip from a big coaster nut, sometimes it’s better to sit near the front especially on the less smoother wooden rides. We’ve visited Mt Olympus when Hades debuted in 2005 and they don’t have a good reputation in taking care of their wooden coasters. So, that’s not the best park to ride a wooden coaster. When Hades opened it ran smooth and had no inversion. It was Gravity Group’s (designer) first coaster with 90 degree turns inside the tunnel. Sadly, since then, it’s become a rough coaster and adding the 360 corkscrew element and different trains didn’t help it any. I’m sorry you decided to endure these rides as they don’t represent what well maintained truly fun wooden coasters are like. 😔
Unfortunately the very first roller coaster I’ve ever ridden was a wooden one. I thought it’d be ok cause it looked small, boy was I wrong 😂 Still haven’t ridden one since

The Hades rollercoaster was cool. I knew that was going go be wild when it went over that big hill. I was surprised it went underground twice.
