  • Testing the 12,000 BTU portable A/C powered by a Northern Tool Power Horse 2300 generator in the 10 by 12 cabin. Very hot day, around 100 degrees F. The interior temp of the cabin was in excess of 95 (the highest the ambient thermometer on the A/C unit goes). Took close to 5 hrs to get the temp down to 80, starting mid-afternoon. No insulation in walls or floor, and only 3.5 inches of insulation in ceiling. Generator powered the A/C just fine, but "tripped off" when I tried to also run the portable ice maker shown @ about 1:06. Have ordered some supplies to build a "Bahama shutter" for the south-facing front window- it lets in a lot of heat. Great in the winter, not so great in the summer.

Appreciate the comment. Just would like to get the ice maker going as well- the gen SHOULD have carried the load but would not.
