This week's guest is Kornelia Binicewicz aka Ladies on Records; a record collector, DJ and an anthropologist of culture. Ladies on Records is a curatorial venture. Its primary focus is female music caught on dusty records and tapes, in the hidden archives and back catalogs of the music labels from around the world. Throughout 5 years of digging in records and meeting forgotten or unrecognised female singers, she also managed to dive in the back catalogues of old Turkish labels. She curated “Turkish Ladies. Female Singers from Turkey 1973 - 1988” (Epic Istanbul).

USSR Grooves!
@Real Person Hungary as well
Thanks!
Ah, THIS is what I scrolled down to the Comments to see. Thank you!
@Real Person I think Pugachova is USSR. The rest of the set is eastern block. Many USSR folks loved and rocked out to Halina Frąckowiak and others from this set, since that's what was more attainable on vinyl behind the iron curtain.
Alla Pugacheva had so many great disco and funky tunes in her catalog. The Queen of Soviet pop.
That Breakout album N.O.L. is one of my favorite albums of all time. Spent 5 years digging vinyl in Eastern Europe. What an education.
This is the only CZcams channel that justifies my weekend procrastination
And my weekday procrastination...
Great mix, thank you!
I've been patiently waiting for a Hungarian tune and there you go at 17:45 a funky song from Zalatnay Cini followed by Kovács Kati at 39:00 . Cheers for this, made my day!
My Polish soul is glowing right now!❤ Loved this channel before, now I love it even more.
Music of my high school and uni years. Fond memories of Alla Pugachova, Mihaela Mihai and Kati Kovacs. What a treat!
Thanks for some good dose of Krystyna Prońko, she's such a great and painfully underappreciated singer. I miss the times when pop singers were professional musicians
Greetings from Seattle, WA! Thanks for expanding my musical horizons and tastes. Music is truly a universal language.
Where on Earth Seattle, WA is? What country?
@@AdiPrimandaGinting Seattle is the largest city in the state of Washington, which is in the upper northwest along the Pacific coast of the USA.

@@AdiPrimandaGinting How is life on Mars bro. :D
@@freddsims648 I'm also from Seattle!
Beautiful scenery!! Wow, you live in paradise
Finally some polish tunes!
I was looking around for anything to do with Donika Venkova, having just created a new page at my 'Girls Of The Golden East' Blog dedicated to her eponymous LP from 1973, the videos recorded on the occasion of her seventy-sixth birthday, then this came along. I've got that 'Príď' by Bezinky in my collection and funky stuff it is too! Although that is not in my collection in this instance when Krystyna Prońko's 'Deszcz w Cisnej' came on the opening bars had me thinking of Zdzisława Sośnicka's 'Za inny dzien za inna noc' for a short while.
greetings from Poland !!! 😍😍😍
Greeting from Hungary !

@@ShapeIess You are correct; I've edited the post
Superb music, soulful and beautiful and not sung in English. Thanks for your set.
Köszönjük a készletet.
Vynikajúca hudba, oduševnená a krásna a nespieva sa v angličtine. Ďakujeme za vašu sadu.

Awesome . Some wicked crate digging going on here. I've checked out a few Eastern European jams in the past, and they certainly bought the funk back in the day. So it's good to get a chance to kick back and hear and learn about all these amazing artists.
Khorosho music, super relaxing. Drink a cold beer and enjoy. Great view also. Keep up the good work.

Love this mix.
Loved this mix. I wish more real cafes would have this kind of mix
The view from her window looks just like the view of Monterey Peninsula from Seaside, CA, only with trees and tropical real estate
Another great guest mix
Please note that the Ladies on Records YT link is not working. This project seriously deserves promotion and recognition.

Cool set.
that vibes that i need right now
Oj, potrzeba więcej takich setów
Love this
Zalatnay's Zöld borostyán was written by Károly Frenreisz, one of the best bass players and songwriters of his time. Later he became one of the founders of the Hungarian rock supergroup LGT (Locomotiv GT).
Sunday vibes!
Oh! The view!...
Nice!
Great groove!

Hell of a job with this mix.
35:36 Krystyna Prońko - Deszcz w Cisnej
Sure sounds a lot like The Rubberbandits were inspired by this when making Horse Outside
I would love to stay there for a week, sample record, and take in that view.... dang!
Zöld borostyán is such a hit
harika bir çalışma
nice!
harikasınız
nice
Super mix, masz takich więcej?:)
Polish girlz rule. Now try polish kicking-ass groups like Niemen (album released also for CBS), Skaldowie, SBB, Klan, Dżem. Let good musi not die!
Good call on these!
And one more - I forgot '2 plus 1'
Also: Bemibek & Ewa Bem solo, Hanna Banaszak, Novi Singers, Edyta Geppert...
@@swiinka I do wish Novi Singers hadn't gone strictly Classical the way they did. They were so innovative at Jazz.
@@litlgrey de gustibus, IMO their Chopin album is a masterpiece. Also, they were all classically trained musicians with diplomas and such, so they certainly knew what they were doing.
