- Should You Buy Star wars the force unleashed 2 in 2023?
Force unleashed 2 is well the sequel to star wars the force unleashed released back in 2008 which I covered just over a week ago.
The force unleashed 2 was developed for a whopping 10 months, yeah they had 10 months to make this game which makes its shortcomings make so much sense.
Force unleashed 2 was not received well back in 2010, reviewers didn't like it and fans of the series were left disappointed by the lack of innovation in gameplay and equally annoyed by how the story
was handled.
Force unleashed 2 took me just under 4 hours to beat and thats with like a 30 minute break cause i had to walk my dog Roy so thats less than half of the original games length, the 10 months thing
is making more sense now for you i think.
The developers decided to remain focused on giving players a linear experience with an even bigger power trip than before while offering a pretty massive bump in visual quality but that is not enough.
I'm not gonna shake the boat with my opinion here, i feel very similarly to everyone back in 2010, there are some glimmers of hope throughout its 3 and a half hour run time but they gets squashed so quick
you will probably forget about the glimmer of hope you had.

Unpopular opinion: This was the most fun I've ever had in a Star Wars game.
Same this was one of my favorite 360 games. I even bought it again cause my series s doesn't have a disk drive

I agree i bought the game at a pawnshop (never rly played old starwars games but the force unleashed on nintendo ds) and if its bad idc it was only 10 $ cad so yea i agree with ya
I just recently played through it again along with the endor dlc and it was enjoyable but the first was so much better
way better tbh the 2nd one just feels like a shadow of itself which a lot of sequels feel like nowadays
How did you get the endor dlc I've been trying to find out if and how I can get the dlc on ps3
I played this on PC and Wii. The Wii’s combat made it so much better alone. Your combos were rewarded with an attack triggered by you swinging the wiimote, which unleashed 5 different attacks depending on how long your combo was kept up, starting from a base swing, to Padawan, Knight, Master, and Unleashed, as well as having the Rage ability, which looked bad ass. It also had a more fun Vader boss fight, where he’d sic the clones on you, which you could use against him to distract him. You also just flung him into a giant fly zapper too. The flagship is such a downgrade from this version. Using the combo system alone makes this a regular replay for me. Plus it had a 1v1 mode too iirc, and the colors for the sabers weren’t as much of a pain to get.
TL;DR, flagship was butchered, get the Wii port. It’s so much more fun. It might have some of the same issues as the flagship, but it’s at least a bit more fulfilling to play. Both are fun, but Red Fly did a real good job on this version of the game imo.

I'm trying to buy this game digitally on my PS3 and I want to have all the DLC, plus there was a pre-order bonus with 2 exclusive costumes and 2 new exclusive challenges. I know it's 2023 but is there a way to get the pre-order bonuses or is it too late?
Everything you said about the combo system is just so incorrect. Play the first challenge trial, it teaches you all the combos. Actually play the game fully before you review it

This game deserves a reboot/remake its still a great concept it deserved better. disney was the one to blame for its rushed development. Its no wonder they dont want starkiller to be canon.
I think it’s free on Xbox gamepass or ea play but if it was around £15-£20 and you’ve never played it as a Star Wars fan I would definitely recommend buying it, my only criticism is that it was too short other than that it has extremely fun gameplay and a decent story with great voice acting. The best part though is being able to wield black lightsabers

I recently played these again on the Series X and they're both better than the new games that came out. They both bring you back to the when games had quality over quantity, they didn't focus on being gigantic boring walking simulators with platform section after platform section. Unleashed 2 just gets some hate because it is shorter than the first game, just think of it as worthy expansion. There is also an Endor DLC that adds another 45 minutes for $1, but I don't think it was released on PC, only consoles.😢

I played this game first because it was a gift and that might be the reason I prefer TFU 2 over TFU 1. I actually only got the first one a few days ago and am still playing the story.

My take on it was that vader was doing test runs with starkiller and eventually clone himself to recover his body. After Frankensteining himself back together, with his body whole a whole new ceiling of force abilities could be available. Anyway the writing can be taken interesting places, when there are gaps like this I just enjoy filling them with my own stuff.
Always handy to have a creative mind when the writing is all over the place :D
I got it for five bucks on sale and I’m playing through it to get some achievements, it’s pretty fun but I would never pay $60 for this

And here I thought I was playing another Anaken story back in the day on the PS3.
That would be a cool elseworld story, the emperor clones anakin before he becomes vader or something :D
@@JacksGameReviews true but in my opinion. I personally feel that Star Wars Died when Lucas sold the rights to Disney. I know that is unfair but I tried to like the new ones. I really did. They’re so awful. Even Mandalorian Season 3 was disappointing and Book Of Boba was boring and watered down so much. Learning about the BTS on Star Wars then to Star Wars now is so sad.
We need a remake of this game. It's one of the best Star wars games ever made in my opinion. Well the first one deserves an remake or remaster, imagine this on the PlayStation 5 OMG 😳

Just got the new xbox and wow these 2 games look amazing
It continuously crashed on me to the point where I had to remove a few cutscene files. The story wasn’t as good as the first one and I didn’t really enjoy the fight scenes as much. First one was miles better than the second imo and if you have a couple bucks to spend on a sw game go get Republic Commando! It is one of my top favorite SW games. A few others to check out are SWTOR and SWGOH. (My system was not the problem with The force unleashed 2, I have a RX6700XT and I think it was the Ryzen 3600? Could be wrong on the CPU.
This game and the first one were both so much fun for the time and had so much potential. Its a shame they fell short and didnt get the development time they deserved. The brutality of the combat was everything I wanted in a star wars game and the story had so much potential. I still have fond memories of both of them, but definitely remember the first one being much better.
Yahtzee (zero punctuation) had an epic takedown of this game back in the day. If you've never watched it, go ahead it will make your day!

I agree with you.. i was so hyped for FU2 when i finished first one.. only to stop playing it after two and half hours because it was bad.

I'm what a gameplay, but I'm know for certain that the novel is quite the book!!! But look at the cinematics they still hold after 13 yrs and some parts are better what we got in some games here and there
Gameplay is amazing but the story is trash compared to the first. Some things in the second were actually good, especially the challenges. With the campaign being short atleast they had challenges that take a long time to complete, and is also how you obtain costumes and second lightsaber crystals
Playing this game on PC with unlimited FPS fix upscaled to 4k is an absolute joy.

It comes with a silly flash drive... LOL. People seem to just have given up at some point in the past. Just like GTA IV. Collector's edition of IV was amazing, of the V it was trash! lol

This game easily could've had 40 hours of gameplay if the game devs actually wanted to but it's obvious they were trying to setup for a 3rd game and trying to spread the story line to grab more money, but they never got the chance to make a 3rd clearly probably due to the fact this game was very underwhelming. Literally as soon as shit gets cool and you are ready for more this game hits you with end credits.... It's a massive let down. And there's no finish to the story just left with a cliff hanger that will never be finished.
the best part of the game is the evil dcl ending.
I don’t care about the quality or even the platforming but I soooo depressed with how short the game was and how little the story actually made sense compared to the first one it’s a bad game unfortunately

The game cobbles together glorified fan fiction for what amounts to an unexceptional subplot as it abruptly ends in the second act screaming, SEQUEL GOES HERE! The ragdoll physics was handled with more care than anything else. Makes sense since it's kind of the trademark of the series. Awesome video by the way!
Galen Marek was at least realistic with his feelings for Juno Eclipse in the original game, in the sequel he’s more obsessed with her, like, unnecessarily obsessed.

In the first game starkiller couldn't force grip more than one stormtrooper in the second game he can lift more than one
He could lift 3 people in the first game, you had to hold LT and RT at the same time after upgrading the grip ability.
Cloning starkiller is just dumb and ruins the original trilogy why if you can jist clone powerful force users why wouldn’t the empire just clone 100’s of anakins they’d be unstoppable why waste so much time hunting down the rebels when you could just have 5 anakins kill all plolitical powers sympathetic to the rebellion why make the death star when you hhave the ultimate contingency with the ability to just create powerful sith lords who can bring down star destroyers and shoot billions of volts of electricity out of there hands this game is complete shit

How anyone can like 1 over 2 is beyond me. 2 had better levels and level design as well as less annoying enemy types, better combat and graphics. But to each they own

Imagine playing a game where you play as a force user and the only jedi/sith you get to fight is Vader and that's only at the very end of the game. Not to mention the is fight is overly long and shit, he just runs away from you 90% of the time
