A great at-bat for a pitcher! Made the opposing pitcher throw 6 pitches.
Anytime u k it's not a "great" at bat don't care who u are lol. no where near "great" he didnt do his job, move the runner over. But I guess not bad for a guy who never hits.. but to call it great lol
Josh Cappello there was one out and he made the pitcher work. The next hitter could have easily done that, knowing as he's the lead off man
Josh Cappello hey get up to the plate, make the pitcher throw 6, then go to the mound and throw 106 mph. then we will talk bud
@@user-ic6gr1vd1j so your telling me striking out was a "great" at bat? Yall using the term "great" very loosely round here. Not a bad ab for sure for a dude that never hits
Josh Cappello “great” for a pitcher... stop being stupid and just give it the credit it deserves.
Aroldis Chapman career highlights
2013: Has an at bat
2016: Wins a World Series
2020:
Poos his pants
Mets fans are so dumb it's embarrassing
Sometimes....nature calls you know
@@DarkSideMaceWindu its true what do you mean
Allegedly poo’d his pants... based on his body language I think he managed to push that turtle head back in
Technically, he is the reason why the cubs almost lost lol
That's pretty good for his first time to bat
He'd hit the shit out of the ball if he squared one up.
i agree
そうだな。テメェーもそう思うか。よし、良い子だ

This reply section is full of angry people replying when it’s way too late
His stance is so smooth for a pitcher. some pitchers look completely silly holding a bat sometimes lol
Y is this in my recommend 6 years later

Back when the Reds actually had fans
rockieRAGE117 the reds still have fans
rockieRAGE117 they don't come to the ballpark
mark 0139 can confirm, still have fans
Matthew Fontana can confirm, still have fans
Matthew Fontana so? Fans still go to games, just not as many as winning year just like your team especially if they're a small market team.
once he gets the bat on the ball... thats gone by a mile
Rey H not necessarily the reason he pitches so fast is because he has elite machinics for what he does if you don't believe me look at sports science aroldios Chapman
NoMelanin the dude is an animal physically. Not only crazy mechanics but crazy strength too
Rey H he doesn't know how to swing and he's not a very big guy so no not really
JoshLikeCrazy he knows how to swing. He can hit
JoshLikeCrazy he is a strong guy. Just watch his work outs
He looks like a the lefty version of Aquino
Your right! By the way it’s Lefty.
@@eliasvlogssd9475 by the way it's You're* lol
ok
Racist
Don Cato. Well he wouldn’t look the same if he was Blake snell
I’m here after 6 years now he plays for the Yankees and he’s thrown the fastest pitch ever
Hey I’m not alome
Hey I’m not alone
Not the fastest pitch ever. Nolan Ryan threw one at 108, but that was with way older equipment so it wasn't official.
ok

Chapman was swinging his hardest imagine if he got a hold of one
Wouldnt go that far his swing is not that good
Says to himself, "Don't worry, I will strike out everyone, especially you!"
It’s fun watching this video 8 years later, I love seeing all of the old OGs of the reds!
If I make it to the MLB my first at-bat it going to be a strikeout I’m calling it
Did you make it?
yeeter man same question. We need an update please.
Did you make it?
This guy grew up to be Mike Trout
Did you make it yet?
I got this recommended lol. Also watching this, Chapman must be like
“Is this what it feels like to strike out?”
@BEST PAIR OF FLIPPIN MARACAS well, he can throw an 88 mph slider so it wouldn’t be the first time. But he throws fast so I understand
His swing is so awesome
“So that’s what it feels like to hit 85+...”
Well, to the commentator, I say that people do stand up when a closer is at bat. I remember people did so when Mariano Rivera was batting.
pitchers should hit.....
HE NEVER BATTED FOOL! : /
Yes, he did bat you moron.
Daniel Flores yeah he did, he had like 6 at bats his whole career
Robert Mayer acutally he had 3 he almost had a hit off of fernando rodriguez back in 09 or 10 but it was caught in center field.
If only he could hit the ball like he hit his significant other.
+ItsMeDWC If only he could hit the ball as hard as he could hit is wife. And he actually does that. If I were the pitcher, I'd hit Chapman in the head. Whatever, a fine and an ejection, they're both worth it.
+Jacob Adamsky are u stupid or just misread the comment
Boy that was SAVAGEEEE. Lol good job though, very true
+Jacob Adamsky by the way u sound u probably haven't even hit puberty yet
ariel arguello the way u said that sounds like u literally just hit puberty
I heard the Cubs' DJ played some rap song after a Chapman appearance. The name of the song?-- "Smack My Bitch Up!" HaHaHa. Sorry, but that is just too funny. The dude got fired for playing it.
Is that true?
It's not a rap song though, it's a big beat song by The Prodigy. And he didn't actually play those lyrics, he just played an instrumental part of the song. He did get fired though.
alan30189 i remember when that happened my uncle was at the game and the crowd went nuts
Zachary Avila - Yes!
CZsWorld - I’m sure those actual lyrics got played, because that’s why the guy got fired! 🤦♂️🙄
Imagine him thinking, how fast he throws while at bat.
He is atleast 28 by now scary crazy how life goes by so fast
What a surprise, another pitcher strikes out. Gotta love the National League.
Not one strike either.
I'd rather play in the NL than the AL. The DH is so ignorant.
Oh no, the manager actually had to use strategy!
ya no DH is not a good thing. This is suppose to be the major leagues and 3 times a game a pitcher gets an automatic out.
I wouldn't say it's automatic. Plenty of times I see pitchers get on base. Pitchers CAN hit. No DH is better than having a DH. Like stated above, it enforces more use of strategy, which in turn makes it all more exciting.
that was a pretty darn good at-bat tho.
I really like his stance
That’s the craziest thing I’ve ever seen in baseball
I bet chapman could hit over in cuba
Cole Baker yeah all pitchers could hit. i mean go to a little league game. the best pitcher is more than likely the best hitter also
Grew up in Cuba. Pitchers never bat over there.
In Japan their ace pitcher sometimes their cleanup batter as well.
Yeah pitchers in Cuba never bat I'm also from Cuba. The only way a pitcher bats in Cuba is before reaching 17 years of age. After 17 from the Juvenil division and up they never bat. And province teams also don't let pitchers bat no matter the age.
I remember my first at-bat in the majors
What was it like
Not gonna lie, that is one violent ass swing.
7 years ago are division champ streak started baby!!!
Chapman lowkey had some plate vision
Nobody:
CZcams: let’s recommend this 7 years later
Aroldis chapman the greatest hitter of all time
I wish baseball encouraged pitchers that can hit and not are just the one trick pony
I wish baseball encouraged position players to pitch and not just be a one trick pony
Allan Berche I wish baseball encouraged catchers to play outfield and not be a one trick pony.
AJ808 Umm that ones isn't true evan gattis plays outfield and catcher,
Allan Berche one person....
actually gattis hasn't played that since like 2013
In his 11 years baseball career, so far (2020) he has had two times at bat and both with the Cincinnati Reds. This one in 2013 and another at bat on 2015. He is 0 for 2 with a batting average of .000
0:14 look at the catcher smiling
Chapman is the beast 💪
The fact the pitcher would’ve walked him if Chapman just didn’t swing is just sad
Nah the pitcher knew he’d swing at junk
Anyone else see the dust on his helmet?
He did really good for first at bat
Ban the DH
Nope, he's in the Yankees now. That's AL.
+SoliWare Cubs are NL dumbass. Watch some baseball
+TrollSauce The fuck is wrong with you? He said he was on the Yankees and he was at the time, and now he's on the Cubs
+cubsrule44 correct. He's on the Cubs. Wow aren't u just mr baseball knowledge - pretty sure everyone has heard he's on the Cubs. Not impressing anyone scrub
+TrollSauce I was about to argue but then I saw your username😂
I mean for the first time at the plate I would say he did a pretty good job
now he knows what its like
Thank you

The pitcher threw 5 balls in a row if Chapman didn't try in bunt.

He is notorious for not wearing his seatbelt, that is what was holding him back.
Reds manager looks like he’s doing fucking sign language.. just make easy signals jes!!
I remember watching this game
Great swing
Zack Grenkie has one of the best bat flips
for some reason he relates to me im a pitcher who cant swing and the coach told me to bunt but i didnt listen to him and i swung and missed all of the pitches
The Reds use to have a great pitching staff that year. Cueto, Simón and Chapman. A decent roaster too and fans at the ballpark lol
On the thumbnail I though Chapman was Ryan Howard 😹
Dude probably raked In high school
He has a good batting stance. Power swing just need to make contact.
He threw all balls
Chapman: Throwing over 100 mph.
Ziegler: I got a strike on Chapman before...
Looks like Ryan Howard at the plate
Chapma nadama tira duro
Why is the getting recommended to me 7 years later
He's no Koo Dae-Sung but definetly not bad for his first at bat
That comment was...PRETTY GOOD
The legendary 0.5 ba pitcher
Am I the only one who's watching this in 2020?
Nope. Me too
I just commented that it’s funny how he supposedly contracted Covid but then shows up more jacked and lean than ever before! Makes you wonder about these “positive” tests! Incidentally, getting more jacked is not something pitchers should do! Look at Noah Syndergaard. These guys never learn that more gym time is not a good thing and that’s comin from a gym rat of 30 yrs!
Cuban missile
I keep getting that ad every time I watch a video
0:26 YEAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! *BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!*
That's a cool Batting Stance kind of like Wily Mo Pena
Who else is watching in 2020😂
It would be great if Chapman can hit the ball as hard as he can throw it.
Or if he hit the ball as hard as he hits his wife
When he swings he reminds me of David Ortiz
His stance is meannnn tho
He had a .955 OPS in AAA when he was playing as a starting pitcher.
How many ABs though
Void Cron 11
Turn the captions on the whole time.
He had good timing though!!!
Chapman hits a drive into left field. It will be a homerun…. If only
He's got a nice stroke. I'm sure he could hit if he put in the time.
I was there!!!!!
It’s like he just rips one out
Admit it. Chapman has a better swing than you do.
That pitcher was dirty!
When the PO hits:
Closers arent really those guys who can hit. They pitch more than they hit.
more like they never hit
Closers do hit. When they were kids.
When they were kids.... A long time ago
Lol
I know.
Has anyone fell out of the seats during a game
go back to your room josh
Yes I know 2 guys and 1 died
that pitcher throws nasty sidearm
para que mandan a los.picher sacrificarse si es mas difícil tocar la pelota que batear!
Im surpised he didnt get hit by a pitch
Let me save you some time... He's strikes out.
his swing looks like Big Papi
Im not a baseball follower. Can someone please explain me what happened?
He's a pitcher.
Pitchers only bat in the National League--the American League uses the designated hitter rule. And generally they're horrible at the plate. And Chapman here is a relief pitcher, not a starter. Relievers bat even less because they're almost always lifted for a pinch-hitter (substitute off the bench). Chapman is a "closer," the guy who finishes out games with leads, and usually only pitches the 9th inning. Closers are also usually the "top"--best and most famous--relief pitchers on a roster. Chapman is particularly notable for being one of the hardest throwers in baseball history, clocked at a 105-106 mph fastball. Here he made a rare appearance in the 8th inning and since they want him to close out the game and his spot in the order is up, he gets to bat. It's a rare chance to see a notable player in a completely unfamiliar role.
Thank you pronkb000
Ok but his batting stance is kinda nice
Aroldis Chapman would have no chance against himself
he strikes out and strikes out them to
Why did this pop up on my feed 💀😭
