On this week's episode, Rob and Jamie join in on celebrating the 25th Anniversary of The Sopranos! They begin with a Memory Lane from a previous anniversary and even get a sneak peak at a future anniversary event. Rob and Jamie answer some fan questions about the show and even respond to some questions from Sebastian Maniscalco, Jodie Foster, and Joe Perrino. They also share some acting tips courtesy of the late, great James Gandolfini, talk about their first days on set, and recap the first and last scenes they were in together. Rob and Jamie then welcome some video messages from some familiar faces from the cast (Steve Buscemi, Lorraine Bracco, Al Sapienza, Vincent Pastore) and get a follow-up answer to a Sopranos question previously asked by Tony Hinchcliffe from the creator himself, David Chase.

Sopranos needs a spinoff where AJ and Meadow are going through dad’s old stuff and they find the truck full of Pokémon cards from season 2
Like the Joey Diaz spinoff wasn't bad enough.
You mean Pokeyman cards
😂
Jamie looks insanely good at 42
Looks 32 honestly
Well yeah, shes rich. Easier to stay young.🤷🏽♂️
But, that being said, she looks great
Rob looks insane at 16:24
They are both beautiful!!!
James Gandolfini was 36 when they filmed the pilot. He was 2 years younger than Rob is now and 6 years younger than Jamie is now.
wtf i thought he was 50
That’s crazy
I watched the series for the first time and finished it to end 2023. Definitely a series I’ll watch over and over again. Congrats on 25 years.
Truly jealous you got to experience it for the first time. If there was any show I could wipe from my memory to go back and watch again like it's brandnew, it'd be either The Sopranos, The Wire, or the first season of True Detective (the latter wto you should watch if you haven't!)
Oh yeah before you know it you will have watched the whole series another 2 times just by watching your random favorite episodes lol
@@nickbotic I kinda don't like the sopranos that much, now the wire and better call saul, thats where I wish I can wipe my memory and watch for the first time again
second time is even better
Rob looked WILD in that sports book ad 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Woke bro up to make an ad 🤣🤣
Bro looks cracked out 😂
What kind of animal smokes marijuana before his own sports book ad
Lol@@Yungbeck
All he did was take off his hat 😂 I decided to wear a knit hat to the DMV when renewing my license the last time, you should see my photo, I look even more cracked out than rob 😭😂
😂 They interact like real brothers and sisters.
James and the other Sopranos fulfilled their roles better than another cast or show I've ever seen, the Sopranos became a real family.❤
Favorite episode yet.
Wish someone would ask Rob about filming the pool scene with James.
Heart wrenching. Gets me every time.
Oooh that’s a GREAT ONE! I wish someone would ask! Or if they see this somehow! 🤗
Honestly Jamie's suggestion about rewriting the series ending to be Meadows wedding would've been a great send-off for the show, and it would also be a reference to The Godfather, The Sopranos ending how The Godfather begun. Could've still built tension and cut to black there instead, if only it went for one more season.
If done right it should’ve been the final scene with classical music playing as tony walks her down the aisle…that would been hard af
I don’t think Meadow will still marry if Patsy was somewhat involved in the hit…
Just start a new series from the 2nd generation of Sopranos. Meadow, AJ Chrissy all the actors that are still alive with new storylines given the present-day crime families. Come on HBO, take that 2nd chance as you did with the first. Call David Chase up NOW!!
@@austinteutsch Chrissy?
@@austinteutsch Chrissy ain’t alive
The Sopranos was as great as everyone says it was. To me there's no better tv in history. HBO was up to the challenge and of course, for the first time, no restrictions limiting what the producers could do. David Chase at the helm was a huge factor and along with the writing and casting, he produced what will go on decade after decade as being the most beloved tv show in history. The fact Jamie and Robert are pals and they had first hand knowledge, has made all their podcasts, and interviews entertaining.
Yes, I have the entire series and rewatch it every couple years and it's always great. If people have not seen it, do yourselves a favor and check it out.
I've watched the entire show at least 5 times. I watch clips from the show on youtube every week.
It’s really insane how the show has cemented itself as the greatest ever made. Breaking Bad had that same factor and definitely gave Soprano’s a run for its money but I got 1. Sopranos 2. Breaking Bad and anything else after that is debatable
The wire and The Corner respectfully
Tell me how to get the first series
Artie Bocco was doing all the cooking.
The initial knee jerk reaction to the finale versus the long term perspective on it is just a testament to David Chase’s genius and the actors giving it life on screen. By the third time I watched it it had become one of my favorite series finales ever.
I am 30 years old but my mother insisted on buying me a Christmas gift last month…..long story short I told her to just worry about my nephew & niece but come Christmas Eve I still had a gift to open! It was the Sopranos box set something I had been wanting for years so I started watching this show again for like the 7th time!
Rob, the moment he looked close to tears and Jamie being a bit of a rock there. Makes you love this pod just that bit more. Congratulations to them both.
Jaime, thank you for mentioning Janice/Aida because she was such a great character, so many great scenes with her.
Mamas lil tramp,mamas lil hoooah
“Comfortably Numb” by Pink Floyd was the song played before Tony killed Chrissy. I think that’s why David was confused by the question.
This is the first time I watched an entire series and seriously missed it after it was over. I was almost depressed when it ended. Such an amazing show and cast. Love the podcast and revisiting the series. Happy 25th anniversary!!!
Facts
What could be more important than the 25th Sopranos anniversary for these two?! I imagine their absence saddened and potentially brought up feelings of resentment for the remaining cast members, even though they'd never express it to them.
That’s what I was thinking…I mean I hope they’re safe and their families are too, but some of the people around for the 25th anniversary probably won’t be there for the 30th. As much as they gush (rightfully so) about how much the show did for them and meant to them I’d hate to know they skipped this for a fucking podcast.
@NVH-hi7wp tbh that tells me they didn't get along with some of the cast or there is some secret beef or resentment there they both don't want to speak on. The fact they both didn't show up for the reunion speaks volumes and I'm sure they were invited. It they weren't invited or notified then that says a lot.
Bro, how can you not watch your work? Even if our don't want to see yourself, watch it for the amazing show it is. It's a piece of history! One of the first of its kind for back then. Also you both look amazing! And thank you for bringing your characters to life for us to enjoy.
a lot of actors don’t watch their own stuff. johnny depp is one that comes to mind.imagine he’s been acting since the early 80s and has never seen any of his own shows/films
I'm getting emotional during some of this. The Sopranos is my favorite show of all time and this is a great reminder of why, it's because the people involved were irreplaceable. RIP to all the legends who passed before they could be a part of this anniversary🙏
I loved The Sopranos. It taught me so much about human nature. The acting was magical from everyone. Thank you for the best show EVER.
Love the camera cuts to anyone drinking water on any YHM pods...Water champs all around hahah
First time watching this pod and noticed that immediately - fuckin great production
Excellent episode. It’s absolute madness that there isn’t half a million views on this yet. It’s 17 hours out and it’s around 37k views.
I would bet it’s pushing close to a half million within a week.
Watching these two legends podcast is a gift for all of us who loved the show.
How on earth could you guys not attend the 25’ anniversary?????????
Exactly what i was wondering, HBO couldnt fly em out?!
Yeah something is off with that. The fact both of them didn't show up is wild.
Huge fan of the pod. You guys are doing The Sopranos community beyond proud.
Rob saying that after Jamie Lyn saying she doesn’t wear socks genuinely made me belly laugh
20:33 even I got emotional imaging your experience 😂 after so much time with the cast, that was a family! To hear “that’s a wrap” must feel so surreal
Shocked and surprised they didn’t attend the anniversary party. Rob’s resistance to the show is also odd.
I've seen every episode of the sopranos no joke at least 10 times. It was my comfort show on many occasions. It's crazy how they both look exactly the same as they did when the show ended. Good for them. Thank you both
I just started watching The Sopranos. It’s so good. Funny to see you guys young!
Lucky.... wish i could watch it again for the first time.
@jeremyweems4916 hey maybe if you get dementia you could forget everything and it could happen 😂😂😂😂 jk
@hayden7198 sometimes I think dementia would be fun. Uncle June had some cool adventures when he had dementia.
I've been rewatching Sopranos for past couple of weeks and just happened upon this videocast. Subscribed instantly. Robert (Rob?) and Jamie are SUCH GOOD actors. I usually write off "the kids" in most shows because they aren't usually good actors (understandable) and are often just catalysts for adult reaction to situation. I believed these two from DAY ONE. You guys were fantastic on the show.
Loved this one and both of you look amazing 25 years later! Can't believe its been so long since the show aired....used to watch it with my dad every sunday. Time flies
It's a shame Jamie and Rob don't do a dedicated podcast just to sopranos, weekly guests , stories and tales of the cast and crew...old photos and vids ...love to hear Lorraine talk about her experience in the therapist sessions with James and the times Rob worked with James in the suicide episodes that AJ had. Great episode 😀
You should watch talking sopranos, Steve and Michael go through every episode with guests! From crew to the actors! The two of them is just perfect too!! “ talking sopranos “ it was only for covid but I guess that’s as close as we have!!
@@stephenherring6219 yeah I do, but I mean if Jamie and Rob were the hosts...you can never have too many sopranos podcasts lol
@@MrPaulb1982 definitely!!!!
I loved when they did that. Michael was so thorough, really well done.
Steve was awful in that podcast, made it unlistenable. He was always cutting people off, and getting annoyed if anyone tried to do any kind of analysis about the show. It’s a shame, because Bobby was great, but Steve is an idiot
Crazy how Gandolfini and Tony became such a father to everybidy on the show. He really acted it into existence, hes got the gabbagoo
So awesome to see you again …. Loved the Sopranos ..❤️…..Actually acquired a bootleg cable converter to watch back in 99 ….2005. Then had to get HBO for the final season. Prayers 🙏 for the cast whom have passed …. Thank you all for the series….
I’m rewatching The Sopranos with my mom who’s never seen it, after not seeing it since it first aired. Such an amazingly funny yet dramatic show. Also love the podcast, you both look great!
Very rare a show comes along with such a great cast.
Loved the talk and interviews, great job both of you, I really loved the show. ❤
Great to see you two together, still so close after all these years. You both look very well. Keep up the great work ❤
So happy y'all started this pod 🫶🏼🙌🏼
That show truly mirrored interactions I have had with my own family. The entire cast is truly family to millions. That being said, your all welcome to stop by for dinner. It's been way too long.
happy anniversary guys ! what a ride, 25 years.. I'd love hbo to release the bloopers of the show too !
On the Van Morrison/ murder vibe brought up by Tony Hincliffe - in the many saints of Newark ‘Astral weeks’ by VM is playing just before Dickie drowns his new step-mother/lover!
Yooooo! Wild!
We need to ask Garth Brooks about Van Morrison...
@@dansbike1 we need a re-edit of the Sopranos where Garth is playing in the background when anyone is whacked.
I got to watch both episodes!! Thank you baby zolo for the "deleted" version!
I'm curious what was in that but not this. I'm not watching both haha
@@imnickimjust finished the delete version and starting this one, I’ll let you know
@@drewbigelow1052did you finish it? Is it a couple minutes longer?
Please do@@drewbigelow1052
Just finished a bit ago it is a bit longer but I think that’s just the intro. Show was the same
Old Rob looking like Kelsey Grammer
This was awesome. Favorite episode so far for sure. Can’t get enough of anything Sopranos related. Will always think of you guys as AJ and Meadow.
I'm re-watching the Sopranos for the umpteenth time. While watching this podcast, I caught myself smiling quite a few times. Happy 25th.
What you guys have done with this show just being yourself and being real has proven what great actors you are. You guys are nothing like the parts you played and it shows just how great both of your performances were on the show.
Absolutely! ❤️👍
Lakeside deli / Eight hills catering out of Verona Nj would deliver to the Cast and Production team a lot! Food is fantastic! Great episode guys.
Please get more Soprano guests on. I would love to hear you guys reminisce. I love hearing the side notes everyone has. I’m a fan like Toni
What makes these two so important that they couldn’t make it to the 25th anniversary of the show that will provide for them for the rest of their lives?
I need someone to make a video about this. The fact all the senior cast members are speaking to them as if they are some big actors or the leads is odd. It's a strange set up. Unless Jamie and Rob were contractually obligated to do this podcast or a project they couldn't get out of to fly there, something is off with them not being there.
Love listening to these 2 chat. Jamie is looking amazing.
Nadav just had to get em one more time
Wait did I miss something? I was doing dises while watching so I may have spaced out for a sec.
deleted upload episode@@likwidmagik
Ah I get it now. Damn r/whoosh@@slothtv3144
You guys are awesome together!!!
Great Podcast, one of my favorites 👏🏻
AJ hasn’t aged a day! Also, just finished Sopranos 2 days ago and was my first watch ever! Incredible show!
Holy canoli, they both look so incredibly good and young, considering it's been 25 years!
Aw, I love you guys. What a great episode filled with sweet memories.
It's so weird watching this and getting emotional because I feel like i knew their dad and watched them grown up 😅
When you guys filmed at Leonards of great neck it brought back so many memories.. also at pier 25 i tried to go into the parking lot not knowing that awesome sick scene was being filmed at that very moment . My friend and myself re enact a scene from pauly and his mom who he found out was his aunt in the assisted living home . Rose - shawpas image - she's a whoah- lmao . Jamie i luv ya and your little brother too haha Soprano's for life .. yes i wish they released the outtakes too . Great podcast 🫶😎😎😎😎🏆🏆🏆👍👍
I’ve been rewatching Sorpranos lately it’s been fun remembering all the good times wish they’d bring something back with the kids being older and both involved with the life of crime
First time watcher, huge fan of Sopranos/YMH and what a great episode as an intro for me. Never been much of a foot fan, but had to Google Jamie's feet and I must say: pretty nice! The wheels fit the car.
Good stuff!! Y'all are awesome.
Soprano Sunday… it was agony waiting all week , worth it♥️
Kismet indeed! You gave the people what they wanted. Loved all the guest videos. Truly, there’s no other siblings I grew up with🖤
Great Ep guys
This was great. Thank you guys for taking the time. OG panty here.
I finally picked up watching the show directly on the 25th anniversary and am finishing it soon. I absolutely love the show and the chemistry on and off set as CZcams delights me with more and more things. To recently learn that James AND Tony died broke my heart. Hands down my favorite show 😘👌
Never watched an episode of Sopranos but this pod is going to be the one to change that. 👏🏼🤞🏼
I have always wished we could see outtakes! They would have been hilarious!
Rewatching with my bf (he’s watching for the first time)! You were both amazing on the series, thank you so much for sharing stories and tidbits of my favorite show. ❤
Yall did an amazing job!😊
In June 2001, me, my dad (Roger Hurricane Wilson) and brother almost met James Gandolfini. My dad plays blues music for a living and was playing inside a club in Manhattan, we’re from Atlanta but went up there with him for his gigs). My dad (who’s from NJ originally) saw James sitting at the bar, watching him play music. I was outside with my brother in the Winnebago, playing PS1 and watching crack heads 😂
I Love This Podcast!!! Keep up the Great Work!!! I Never Miss an Episode!!!! I Want More!!! LoL
16:05 I wasn’t ready 😂😂😂
Beautiful episode 💖
now i need to know why jamie and rob couldnt make it to the anniversary party
Tom & Tina have them locked in a basement.
They’re busy with all the projects they have going on. Oh wait
Starting to think something weird happened with Rob behind the scenes with some execs and Jamie stands with Rob
@@Kyle_RielBingo. I think so too. This may be a true lies situation like how the girl who played Arnold's daughter in the movie got sexually assaulted during the filming but kept it a secret until many years later. I think some drama or beef happened over the years and only meadow knows so she sticks by him & they both don't attend anymore. Notice they both didn't speak about the emmys either?
It's some drama. Jamie didn't elaborate on why she and Rob couldn't be there so it feels sketchy asf. She could've casually followed that up with "were busy with xyz, family, a project, we're obligated to be here by contract so couldnt make it" they're hiding something and just being nice in general to keep it clean. I noticed Jamie lit up when the guys who played Jackie came on the phone.
19:33 I love that they both say it differently
I'm watching it for the 5th time now. On season 2. Wasn't aware it was 25 yrs already. Whoa..
Only podcast I still watch from your moms house. Great episode as always.
17:10 there is a drop thats not supoosed to be there LOL
Hearing all the amazing stories of Jim it makes it hard to watch The Sopranos and see him as anything other than the man he truly was a kind genuine human.
These last 2 episodes are very very good ❤
They both still look like they did in the show, pretty amazing
My first time in NYC i hailed a cab & Jodi Foster was also doing the same, the cab stopped for her & she invited me to share it with her. I asked which direction she was going & it was the opposite of where i was going, but i said "i think I'm going near there also" just so i could talk to her. Nicest & most down to earth celebrity ever!
You two were awesome in the Sopranos along with James 😎
i know there's probably 3812 of these comments by now, but I have never seen or even wanted to see the Sopranos, and this is one of my fav pods. Because I love Jamie and Rob as humans
re watched it all last year classic show cheers Meadow and AJ
About to finish up season 2. Havent watched it since it originally aired. Forgot how damn good that show was.
My girl and I just finished the show for the first time last night. Loved every second, glad my favorite character survived.
Jamie will always be a smoke show 🔥
IMO Sopranos best represented dreams/unconscious on screen. Surprised how little that is mentioned.
Jamie is right...the acting & story line / scenery is beyond first class. I am reactivated by the series and am re-watching...again
I wish that it ended just like the movie Carlito's Way. Tony slowly fading away and then going to black. Like he knew he was dying and his voice narrating!
Everyone is watching the other upload haha.
Did they upload twice ?
@thomasambers9977 yes. An it was titled, Delete. Haha same episode
Wow, Mikey P., is alive and well. What a hoot!
Funny, im watching Sopranos right now. Rewatching i think for the third time. One of the best shows of all time.
RIP "James "Jim" Gandolfini" 🇮🇹1961-2013 🙏 never forgotten
I watched the sopranos every week with my parents, im the same age as rob and felt i had alot in common with his character. My moms side of the family is "connected" but she didnt want that for her kids. She says its the closest tv or movie representation of what it was like growing up in that world.
Happy 25th - best tv show in history. Hands down 🎉
