Featuring the late Prof Kartar Singh, a member of the committee and director of Jawaddi Taksal at the time, Principal Sukhwant Singh, a prominent disciple of Baba Sucha Singh, and Prof Ravail Singh, teacher at the Shaheed Sikh Missionary college for ragis, Amritsar.

This actually shows the reality of how this committee made bad decisions about the Gurmat Sangeet Raags published but Jawaddi.
Indian Classical music has been around for thousands of years, since The Saraswati Goddess.
So does mean Sikhs should discard the Raag our Guru Jis sung "Dhur-Ki-Banni? According to statement made by Prof
Ji in this interview, we shouldn't only sing Miya-Ki-Malhar, Darbari Kanara (as he sung), Basant (Purvi Thaat), etc.
Keep in mind that Tansan (employeed by Akbar Raga) came almost 100 years after Guru Nanak Dev Ji. So do he really think that Guru Nanak sung Kanara Shabads in Darbari Kanara? And we can call it Nardharik Raag?
The logic of keeping the original Hindu Raags is also wrong and offensive to Sikhs because Tansan change these Raags and made Miya-Ki-Malhar, Miya-Ki-Todi, Darbari Kanara, and many others. These Tansan Raags acceptable (and sung by Prof. Ji) but the Guru Nanak Dev Ji's Raags are not acceptable. These are our Guru Ji Sikh Raags that are so difficult that Classical Singer don't sing (Assa, Maru, Gaund, Tukahri, and many others). They Classical Singer sing may sing a mixture of two Raags like Maru-Behag, Yeman-Kalyan or Gaund-Malhar, etc But they never sing Maru, Gaund, Kalyan, (just CZcams Classical Raga, and you will see this)
When MG Gandhi Ji passed-away, Bhai Santa Singh Ji sung a Shabad in Maru, (Jagat Mein Jhutthi Dekhi Preet). It is more in line with what Prof Kartar Singh ji sung.
But it seem like this Committee was quick to go to a Vedi ji in all these Raags (like Maru, Tukahri, and others) and dismissed the Sikh Raagis like Bhai Santa Singh Ji, Bhai Samund Singh Ji, Bhai Avtar Singh-Bhai Gurcharan Singh Ji, (authenticated by Samund Singh in their two books published by Patiala University) and all the Rababi Kirtan Jatha that still sing their heritage Raags (but not the DC Vedi Maru).
Humble apologies if this was offensive to anyone but it was entented to expose the truth of changing and omitting Guru Nanak Dev Ji and all our Gurus Raags that were unique from the Classical Raag being sung in Brothel during that era. Our Gurus all made unique string instruments for the same reason. No Taus or Sarandha was ever played in a Brothel.

The original Shuddh BASANT of the GURU GHAR ( GURU SAHIB JI'S BASANT) is not of Bilwal thaat but Kalyan thaat .Bhul Chuk Maaf , WAHEGURU JI KA KHALSA WAHEGURU JI KI FATEH!
First time im hearing this, raag shuddha basant always had a bilaval thaat, there's a poorvi thaat which is more popular today, but I always thought the bilaval thaat was the original of the guru Ghar.
