  • abc.net.au/radionational/music... Master picker, writer and singer of blues-tinged songs, Chris Smither is touring after an absence of three years with a new album, Hundred Dollar Valentine. He's speaking to Andrew Ford from RN's The Music Show. Songs: 'Place In Line' @ 0:05 and 'What it Might Have Been' @ 18:47
Chris Smither (smither.com) grew up amidst the great musical mixing pot of New Orleans. In the late 60's, at the urging of Eric von Schmidt, he entered the burgeoning East Coast folk scene. Over the four and a half decades since, he's refined his acoustic blues style, gaining a raft of high profile fans along the way. Perhaps most notably Bonnie Raitt, with whom he's collaborated over many years.
