Most sexual content on western media is usually casual sex or prostitution, and more recently, gay. Snowbreak is actually pretty tame in comparison, but very oriented to straight males that like loyal women. This is the problem they have with it. The so-called "male gaze".
Mihoyo is mad over Snowbreak's success, they own a CN voice acting company that Snowbreak was using for the game and that acting studio just forced the actresses to terminate their contract!! So CN will get all new voices soon.

The Snowbreak team released the info to community managers in the official discord, and yes it was because of the new direction taken with the game. So basically the devs tried to get English VAs back now that they were making bank but they refused to be hired back on.
Speaking as someone who likes Snowbreak but doesn't like the more suggestive direction the game is taking-- it's fine. The game has found a direction that better addresses the majority of players and attracted new players too. I'm happy for their success.
also, the cn voices are being replaced!! most likely scheduling again since they need fulltime VA because they will voice the whole story and personal files!! most likely they will rewrite the first 10 chaps with this chance.

I'd like to know what the girls are saying because a lot of the times I don't see any basic subtitles for the JP voices when I walk around with the characters. With that said I don't mind using JP VAs either, it's just I want the subtitles at least, I don't understand Japanese at all aside from a few select words. The game needs small incremental improvements. Maybe if they can get through this wave of voiceovers and stabilize themselves again, they can take time to find the right English VA talent. If that's even something they think is worth the money and effort. Snowbreak is niche enough that most people that enjoy the game prefer CN or JP voices anyway.

The lewd in games is whatever at this point if it is included it won't hurt me seeing some skin here and there, I just hope it maintains a mix and doesn't become tunnel vision on the lewd. End up with a lot of the copy paste generic fetishs. Money in the lewd though so who knows. Lyfe's Wild Hunt is probably my favorite design, I think it was cool that it felt like an evolution/upgrade of the original. The new one if flashy and all but I also remember being 12 and moving that slider to the max and giggling like an idiot. I'm quite sad about the EN VA situation though, I made my account near launch as it had it but never got time to play it all that much. Picked it back up this month for the events and kept getting confused as once I started unlocking more things were spouting JP voice at me seemingly randomly. I thought it was a bug until I read EN had gotten dropped a while ago. Not sure the hate for EN as I felt it really made some of characters stand out. It's unfortunate they didn't want to come back as I would have skipped this game completely without them.
Voice acting aside some western VA works for some media some don't the same goes for JP VA but a lot of times its the English VA are always a miss they don't put too much effort in their jobs they just come on board for the bank check and that's it. when i watched anime original jp sub vs the English dub and compared both i cringed at the dub so much im never watching a dub version ever. alot of the lines were improvised and the voice (shudder) makes me wonder what are they High on when doing the voices of characters. now there are some western VA who i do like bec of how dedicated they are a good example are Mark Hamil (Joker/Skeletor), Keith David (Spawn), David Kaye (Beastwars megatron), even the VA who did Saber rider and the star sheriffs are top notch note the Saber rider was originally from Japan

Then snowbreak went into full fanservice route, tried to rehire VAs due to the direction changes either the VA agency or actual VAs didnt accept the change in direction. Which is understandable due to massive shift. What I dont get is why they didnt hire other eng VAs.... Also chinese VAs are quitting/fired
Something happened with Chinese voice actors recently now. Apparently China has dog whistle politics idk what that is, but apparently Snowbreak is one of the few gacha games that doesn't have it. So apparently China is also fighting some sort of political battle as well. I don't know what the other gacha games are doing that they hate I'm sure mohoyo is involved with those kinds of politics. I dunno what they are so i've never noticed, but apparently the Chinese do. I know I've read the Chinese try to explain it to me and I still dont really understand. All i can say is there is some sort of feminist movement that's a little different than the western movement in China.
