The pattern of the 'frame' on the doors reminds me of a city street grid, like looking down on a colorful map. I can imagine what stores and homes, parks and structures are in all the triangles and trapezoids in between. Thank you, Jimmy, for sharing your thought process with us.
It was really nice to see you Jimmy expressing yourself, and not just building the normal wood working norms. I really think you should make more like this and REALLY express yourself.
What's interesting to me is that the piece looks right at home in your shop, while I can totally see it inhabit a New York studio apartment. Really great piece! Nicely done Jimmy.
This thing is amazing. Relatively "simple" build, but your techniques for building (the dado jig, self made hinges, and that middle leg of the baseframe) and the artwork on the doors gives it an amazing appearance.
Jimmy, you are the best man!!! I'm a big fan and love those little tricks you show, like the dado with the router, amazing!!!! Greatings from Argentina.-..
So long as your vertical rails are all the same width, measure half the width of your end rails and then divide the length of the piece by the desired number of verticals. I love watching you work, Jimmy.
It's very like mid century modernist stained glass windows you see in some churches. Cool work I now know of Evans work and thanks for introducing me to his furniture style.
Great work Jimmy! Loved to see the way you put it all together and then the finished piece. A cool update would be when it is in place at your friend's house.
Interesting to see someone that inspires you, since you have inspired so many of us. Thanks for sharing that Jimmy. love the narration like all your Core77 stuff.
+Bradley Patrick Yes. He does exclusive videos for Core77 about once a month. He also does regular videos for Make. Those, and his own channel, are the three places where all, or nearly all, Jimmy Diresta's videos are found.
Fantastic! I like seeing how you tackle another spectrum of work. That's one of those pieces I would walk out to the shop 12 times to look at when I was done. :)
that part was Awsome because I have the same problem always read the tap wrong and the math can be difficult to figure out each space really anoying thanks for tip and reassurance Jimmy!
Fantastic piece Jimmy! Would've been an enjoyable project letting loose with the paint brush. I like making my own hardware so will be making those hinges down the line - great tip.
You were once asked "how comfortable are you with your Power Tools," and your answer was Dangerously Comfortable lol. I can see that so much with the Band Saw especially. I know it looks worse with things in fast forward. I have my own dangerous comfort zone also, but I also know that my hands are not going to move until I want them too. Maybe I'm trying to make an excuse or defend us both here a little, but any professional has to have faith in themselves and their tools. However I'd kill my kid if he did what I do ...:)....Nice build. I enjoyed it
Way to pay respect to original artist, Paul Evans. I love this format with narration Jimmy.
fantastic! I really appreciate your "talkies" and hearing you decision-making process.
Thank you brother!

Awesome! The possibilities with different textures and materials in those doors is infinite. Nice work Jimmy!
Wasn't a big fan of this piece until I saw it installed in the space in your vlog. Nice work Jimmy and once again, thanks for sharing.
Dude!!! I don't know how this one slipped by me, but this thing is gorgeous. Well done sir, and I loved the hinges.

I think Paul would be proud! Great work Jimmy!!
Thank Jimmy! I'm glad you were inspired, and you always pass your inspiration on to me too!
Sometimes I cry at night, when I'm alone, because I know I'll never be as amazing as Jimmy Diresta.
This thing is amazing. Relatively "simple" build, but your techniques for building (the dado jig, self made hinges, and that middle leg of the baseframe) and the artwork on the doors gives it an amazing appearance.
Turned out beautiful. Lucky friend who gets this piece.
Very clever and nicely executed Jimmy! I like the piece of wood screwed to the router base. Slick. Cool looking piece, very unusual.
This is quite great. I like when Mr. Diresta gets out of his comfort zone.
Jimmy, you are the best man!!! I'm a big fan and love those little tricks you show, like the dado with the router, amazing!!!! Greatings from Argentina.-..

Excellent build Jimmy! I have to say I really liked the voice over. - Jim
Very cool Jimmy! I really like the simple router jigs, I am totally going to show this shortcut to my students
Always nice to see your artistic side come out even more!
I almost like the voiceover videos better than the regular videos. Either way, keep up the killer work Jimmy!
That turned out great! Took notes on the DIY hinges. Building the stick geometry looked fun, too.
It's very like mid century modernist stained glass windows you see in some churches.
Cool work I now know of Evans work and thanks for introducing me to his furniture style.
A True Work Of Art!!! Beautiful Jimmy!!
This one just blew me away, beautiful interpretation
Brilliant! Loved the hinges, so simple 👍
it takes an artist to copy an artist!

I'm confused, does Jimmy D make these videos for this channel?
+Bradley Patrick Yes. He does exclusive videos for Core77 about once a month. He also does regular videos for Make. Those, and his own channel, are the three places where all, or nearly all, Jimmy Diresta's videos are found.
+Ian Hay good deal. I knew he did them for Make. I just wanted to make sure it was legit here. I'll be subbing now that I know. Thank You

You are a very inspiring artist yourself! Thanks for sharing.
Very cool. I've always liked the abstract stuff.
Evens' designs are said to be a quilt and I would agree that it is like a quilt pattern. Job well done.
Nice build. Especially like the custom hinges.
Thankful that you start talking in your videos, I am not an expert, but i like your work and how you work it too much.
Greetings from Austria

Wow! Beautiful piece.
Nice thanks, Jimmy/Paul, I think I'm going to make my own copy 👍🏻
Beautifully done.
i like the abstract look.
"It's hard to copy..."
Your'e not copying, your making your own unique version
But it is a copy... O.o yeah its his version of it and it's really pretty but at the end of the day it is a copy. He himself even said it haha
taking inspiration from something and copying something are different imo :)
Awesome job Jimmy!!!
