@@Nwachukrew No, they are not really living together, the apartment belongs to Hattie, but as they are used to spending a few days together because her old house is far from his house, he will definitely be there. That's why Jin has little space in the house. At least that's what I understood. And I am so happy to see her growing up in her plans and they achieving it together. So cute.

Korean elders generally have hostile feelings towards westerners because of what's happened to Korea in the past (Korea was divided into two countries against our will right after we became free from the Japanese colonization, which was followed by 3 years of Korean war. Some nations in power came together and decided that they would divide Korea into two: North Korea was ruled by Russia and South Korea, by the US. It was the most painful time for Koreans, and we were also the poorest country in the world. While the nation was hurt and struggling as a whole, they were governed by the US, which made decisions against their will, like US stationing tens of thousands of US military troops in S. Korea. While completely torn apart and economically devastated, Koreans had to live with foreigners in their land, again (after the Japanese). For these reasons, Korean elders are hostile towards Westerns living in Korea. On top of that, the US troops drank, had parties, hit on women at bars and clubs during their off-hours, which has further grew their animosity against the Americans. This is why there are still lots of Korean adults who will show a strong dislike when they meet Americans and Westerners in general. The US military troops are still stationed in Korea to this day, btw... so animosity continues. Korean people have gone through a lot of pain and humiliation before it became the economic and cultural powerhouse it is today. Knowing the history of a country will help in understanding its people and odd behaviors. All this to say, what rhe elder said to you while you were taking out the recycling is less personal, and more due to decades of painful history. Hope you have good friends in Korea now that can explain how to properly recycle in Korea so that never happens to you again xo

part of what i love about this is that they're not ridiculously out of touch w reality. a lot of youtubers are showing us these large houses/apartments, and even me (at 23) and my own bf (29) were blessed enough to move into a fairly nice condo in less than a year of dating, but these two are so home-y and down-to-earth.

Apartment was similar to H&J s new apartment. 19sqm was 620$; 25 sqm was 700$; both with 10K deposit. 42sqm 1+1 was 1200$ with about 18K deposit. Buy option for 19sqm is 150K, 42 sqm is 310K. People shouldn't move from TX to Seoul 🤣🤣🤣🤣

I live in a big city in Germany but considering the fact that Seoul is such a laaarge city, bigger than Berlin and Munich (which also have rent prices are more expensive then where i live) i can totally understand the costs there. But not the deposit😱 welp, there goes my dream of living and working there for a year 😭

How can some people leave the house without cleaning?
I remember my dad being particular about making the house neat and clean before we move out because the other person who comes to live should not feel disgusted by the dirty looks. Even if we never meet we should still leave behing a good image of us.
