↠ machuga heights info
- we live at the end of the hallway in Gibson Hall so we only have one window instead of two. our room is always dark because of this so def remember that when choosing your room! The end of the hallway on all floors and halls is the same.
- I love living here but the walls are SO THIN. you can hear EVERYTHING that is happening in the hallways and sometimes in other rooms too.
- we do have a microwave and a fridge in our room that I forgot to show lol
- the cost of living here is scary but it is definitely worth it!

I’m transferring to Montclair next semester and I’ll be living in Machuga!

Hi! You mentioned that you are not from New Jersey. I was born there, but I don't live in New Jersey at the moment. What state did you come from, and was it easy to get into this school compared to other schools you applied for?
hey! I am from southern Pennsylvania, about 3.5h from Montclair. I only applied to one other school and I think both were relatively easy to get into only because I had very high grades/GPA as well as advanced coursework. The application for Montclair is pretty lengthy and your personal statement will probably be the next most important thing after your transcript and extracurriculars. Hope that helps, good luck!! 🤞🏼✨

hi, did you have to fill out something extra or pay more because it’s not communal bathrooms? i’m going here in the upcoming fall
hey! we did not have to fill anything extra for the bathrooms. Machuga heights is more expensive as a whole than the buildings with communal bathrooms. That is mostly because the building is newer and Sam’s is on the 2nd floor. I plan on dorming there in the fall. Do you think the walking distance to your classes is reasonable?
hey! Machuga is the farthest from all of the class buildings to be completely honest. The walk to University Hall is around 7-8min which is pretty reasonable unless the weather is bad. hopefully that helps, good luck this fall!
I lived in Blanton and Clove Rd, in 1990 and 2000. I was Political science and film directing. What building is that?
