PERFECTLY BALANCED AS ALL THINGS SHOULD BE!
And then you have me, 14 books in a year would be a goal 😭❤️
@@khadijafayyaz6184 I mean, for me half a book in 3 years should be good.
@Georgia Rose is your dad a dentist by any means?
@@noemigonczol7454 lmao I thought cause her name from Best Song Ever song by 1D said
"Her name was Georgia Rose and her daddy is a dentist" xD

Same here :)

Ha! I am 40 and feel the same! My kids are closer in age to her than I am!
Same here. She makes me want to go back to uni
yep, 44 and coming here regularly for a bit of “get your stuff together, woman”. Ruby channels my younger, better self :)

So many people are like "I don't have the time or the luxury to read" ..Listen all you have to do is take out 20 mins of your social media time to Read .
maybe at that rate they might finish half a book a year!
@@Kerm88
Actually, it‘s more like a month. If I take the audiobook of „Red White and Royal Blue“ as an example (which is quite long at around 400 pages), 20 minutes a day will get me to finish the 12 hours of audiobook in 36 days.
Even if it’s 20-30 pages
30 mins a day will get u 20-30 pages a day depending on how fast you read, so in a week you will go thru 20x7= 140pages, in a month you will read aprox 20x30=600 pages so you will finish a thicccccc book in a month or 2 smaller ones. So in a year you would finish 600x12=7200pages. An average book is 400 pages so assuming you'll only be reading 400 page books, in a year you would burn thru 18 books. In 10 years you got 180 books
Depression really fucks me up. I would try to read a few chapters then I don't have any motivation for a few days. It's so difficult. Yes, reading is very important, but ugh
I can see the difference between someone who just studying (and doesn't have time to read some book or self care) and someone who mature academically and mentally . Proud of u Ruby 😊
lol im the one that studies and reads books (that's why i get no sleep) and no self care it's actually sad
You are never too old to read any type of book. Ever.
wish I could participate in the challenge but it's quite hard when you work 9 hours a day
This is also my problem. Love to read but working 8-9 hours a day does not leave much room at all to get the important things done, let alone downtime to relax and read if you so choose.
Maybe 2 books in 30 days for those of us who have to work too much? That’s a goal I can get behind actually.
I agreeeeee
Totally agree. 2 books a month is the most i can manage. The only time i fo get to read is my commute to office, and i read for that 1 hour without fail everyfay.
askdi 12 hours a day is even harder especially when it’s 3/4 in a row
I do 8-10, you can wake up earlier to meal prep and schedule 1-3 hours of reading before bed. Usually can manage 100 pages an hour on average 50 pages an hour is normal. It boils down to commitment and enjoyment, creating obstacles and saying I can't be bothered or making excuses isn't going to help. No disrespect just being blunt.
The first three minutes of this called me dumb in 48 different languages
😂😂😂
Lol
I like hearing your thoughts on what you're reading. Thanks for sharing!
Wish I still had the time to read this much. I used to spend summers as a kid reading all day. Now at 24, I am currently working a full-time job and it's definitely harder now that I have to worry about making dinner, working out, doing chores, etc. I need a vacation lol!
I have no idea what working a full time job is like, but I believe you can somehow make time to read, even if it's 3 pages a day or less!
We are everybody's friend Of course I still read! I’m talking about the days when I could read a whole book in a day & I didn’t have any other responsibilities. I meant this as I miss those care-free days of childhood.
@@vanessam3444 Audiobooks take less time to finish, they might work if you want to do the challenge
I use audiobooks a lot too! I can read the book faster myself but with an audiobook I can get all my chores and stuff done while listening which is great!
I got all the time in the world.
I work full time so there's no way I could do this challenge but I think I'll try 7 books in 14 days. I love reading but do have a tendency to get distracted by other things
"shut down the phone" someone says
7 books in 14 days would still be quite a lot!
Ruby makes me so self conscious about how uneducated I am lmao
Same lol
Anyone here experiencing a book slump ?
Me: Yes 😭
I am!
No but book slumps are the absolute worst. I went through one in December and I didn’t read the whole month. Hopefully you find your inspiration as I did to continue reading. It just takes something fresh and new to get back to reading and that can take weeks or just a couple of days, good luck!
ive been in a book slump for 5 years
YES! I tried re-reading a book that got me really into books in general and I just have no motivation :( I hope I find it soon because I have so many books/series I want to read.
I honestly don’t know how anyone can read that much😳 it takes me three weeks to finish only 1 book😅 anyways, this is super inspiring, as always, Ruby☺️✨♥️
The Evergreen Soul well it’s completely okay. I’m all about the slow life
I guess she has a super speed reading lol
Even if you can read so fast, you are probably not enjoying it very much
@@adolfobucio193 but even if you understand everything, you don't have much time to think and to reflect
Piche loca ruby granger fea
Instead of readibg a book by myself im watching how ruby is reading 👍
Same lol
I love this challenge and it is very inspirational! One question: Does the fact that you read so many books in such a short time diminish the reading experience, because there is not much time to reflect the book and let the mind wander? Just curious :)
Kirsten Timmerman depends on the person I think
i dont think so beacause i can complete reading a book alamost in two days as i am having schools and whenevr i read it i feel that i am inside the book.. really great for people who are lonely
Really good question! I always need a bit of time after finishing a book, to reflect, before starting a new one.
yes, she is obsessed with numbers and doesnt care about the process. reading 10000 books like this is useless. wasted time. she has a video with a readathon, she read 8 books in a day, its stupid and worthless.
@@yu9666 How is that worthless? Extensive reading is very beneficial.
its so amazing that you have all these books. when i want to read, i usually just search for it online and read on my ipad (i dont have a kindle) and its just different from reading an actual book :( but the best i can do
Bernice Cheung
I get a lot of library books (not now though since my libraries closed).
I love your reading vlogs and I find them incredibly relaxing and motivating. Would you maybe consider making more of them now that it’s summer?
I can only imagine reading a book under trees in a rainy day. So beautiful
History of the Rain sounds beautiful - you’ve just added to my wish list!!
I really enjoy listening to you talk about the things you like in the book. It makes me really want to read the History of the Rain.
I'm so glad to see that you're using the bookmark! Thank you for the challenge of 14 books 😃 ♥️
I finally found someone who reads a book a day as well as me
I absolutely love this girl. I have been watching her videos basically every day adding most of these books into my TBR! So inspirational!!
I saw the thumbnail and was immediately excited to hear what you thought of ‘Salt to the Sea’ Personally I don’t normally read historical fiction but I really enjoyed this particular book. I thought that it was really clever to see all the different characters perspectives on the events of the time ❤️
Kimberley Absolutely! I found this book in particular super fantastic and captivating
Kimberley I loved it so much
Maybe I'll read that next! ^^
This is one of the most beautiful and inspiring videos of yours, in my opinion! I’m such a mood reader, so I pick up and put down books when I don’t feel like reading them (usually I have three or four on the go), so this really inspired me to push through and read books more quickly. :) Plus your home and this aesthetic is so gorgeous!!
Ruby you should totally make a list of all the background music you used every time. You have a great taste of in music, I absolutely love every one of them ❤️❤️
Absolutely LOVE your books/reading books videos, Ruby! They remind me of me reading and the pleasures coming with it. Wish more of such filming~
Thanks for sharing Ruby. I first heard about The Good Girl's Guide from a book blogger.
I'll definitely try out the books - your recommendations never disappoint.
I read 2 books a month and enjoying it. Learn a lot while working a full-time job, exercising and social time.
I was losing motivation to read again, but then i was like, 'yaaaay a new upload from Ruby!"
Perfect timing! Definitely needed this. Been struggling with having the motivation to read recently
I love it! I wish I had more time to try this challenge. But you’re making me want to read more again. Love it!! Can’t wait to see part two. 😊
your dog is beautiful
Hey Ruby! I got my first year uni exam results through, and I passed my year with MERIT! Thank you so much for being an inspiration and keeping me motivated during the times I needed it most
I don't know why I smile when I watch your videos... so peaceful💕
Ruby, you are a shining star! Always be true to yourself. 🌠 I love watching your videos. ☺
The music piece that was played during the reading on Day Three is one of my favourites! Thank you for the motivation, Ruby ♡
Whats the title for this one ?
Salt to the Sea is such a great book imo, love Ruta Sepetys and her work. You've inspired me to read more, good luck on the challenge!
reading vlogs are so satisfying to watch...
Ruby, you have inspired me so much. I feel you are the one who has perfectly productive days. The only problem I face while being productive and practicing self-care
is that I do not know hat I should do next. For a person like me, I do not like making schedules for organization but all my friends recommend me to do so. SO, now I've finally decided that WILL make a schedule but I just do not know how to get started with it. If ya have any tips then please lemme know: )
Dear Ruby, when I was younger I loved reading. I just sat down for hours and read. Today I often think that there is not enough time to read. However I know that if I'm honest it's a question of priorities. Thank you so much that you remind me of that.
Joanna
You are always so upbeat and positive. And it’s infectious!
What a refreshing booktube video! It was so wonderful to watch and your setting and music is so atmospheric!
This vlog is goals! The only time I’ve been able to read a whole book in a single day was for booktubeathon, feeling really motivated; also the editing is on fire!!!!!
I haven't ever felt the need to comment on CZcams videos a lot, But Ruby, it warms my heart to see the sheer authenticity with which you go about your life. The kind of positivity that watching your videos evokes in me is truly amazing. I find myself to your channel everytime I want to feel inspired, motivated or just need a sense of hope. Your cheerful voice is just a cherry on top. Keep going! :D
Oh my gosh you're so so lovely! Thank you x

SALT TO THE SEA IS SO AMAZING. It is written by an author from my homeland. You pronounced her surname a little bit funny :D. I hope it helped you to understand the pain of the war. If you liked Salt to the sea give a chance to book called Between Shades Of Gray. It was written by Rūta Šepetys as well and is really amazing. It tells a story about the genocide of the Lithuanian people. I recommend it from the bottom of my heart. Best regards
I love your book vlogs. They genuinely uplift my entire mood!😊
Also, does reading Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, count? I'm 23.
I read A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder thanks to your recommendation and I gave it 5/5 stars! I thought it was so well written and clever, I was shocked to see it was her debut book!
It's so good!
This inspired me to read a book again after a long time..💭💗
I think this is one of the best book recommendations(sort of) mini video ever. Period. I am hoping to buy a copy of History of the Rain soon!
OMG u motivates me🙉 14 books in 14 days?!!! i took 3 months to read 1 book!! now im srsly gonna start engaging more. might be doing monthly book challenge to start. thank u♡ im reading the book Bloodsworth btw
Good Morning Ruby!😄
I'm early before 1k😂!. I do finish reading in 2/3 weeks. This is incredible! Read a book in one day. Enjoy your reading for 14 days challenge!🤓
Have a productive week!
Ruby, you're my fave person on CZcams, you have an amazing personality and vibe, you always put me in a good mood, thank you for that! :) Hugs from Malta
You are awesome. A true inspiration. Thank you for the great content.
I'm hearing some of the book names and I'm like ahhhh I remember when she added it on goodreads as read - now it makes sense why the updates were so regular 😂
Please talk about books like this! I love love talking about books! Unfortunately I have no bookworm friends
*you are amazing ruby !!* ❤️❤️❤️
I’ve been working on this challenge, I definitely want to get at least 10 books in the 14 days, but I’m hopeful that I can get to 14!
Every video you make is just a beautiful as the last !! 💓 Ty for so much inspiration Ruby xo
that was so cool, i'm so inspired to up my reading now. thank's Ruby. mmm probably gonna check out History of the Rain and A good girl's guide to murder, yay
Ruby- you should do a video analyzing all of the Man Booker awarded books you’ve read to see if you can guess the guidelines, then do an on-camera comparison of your guess to the actual!
Oh I should have taken part in this readathon! It looks so fun :( but I still really enjoyed this video so thanks for hosting the challenge!! :))
This felt so cosy. I loved this challenge! Watching this on day 14, not quite going to finish my 10th book but I got a definite 9 in ☺️ I’ve been vlogging it and hopefully edit it tomorrow to get up on Saturday 📚
Your every video is inspiring.....and always stay me motivated during study thank you so much
i need to read 4 books for school this summer. at first i thought it was so stupid, but now i feel really motivated to read🤩
I love your videos, they are so peaceful and calming.
Loved the video as always, Ruby! When I finish my exams I will follow some of your recommendations. Lots of love xx
From what i saw of the cottage it looked so beautiful and old fashioned
I literally have like 20 books to read during the summer
I CANT WAIT😊😁
I read “Salt to the Sea” about a year ago and I loved it, it’s still one of my favourite books.
I absolutely love this. I’m going on vacation (to London actually!) in a week, and that’s just not doable for me while I’m in Europe but when I get back I’m definitely going to do this! Thank you Ruby!
I just want to say that i think you're a great role model!
Please make the next 7 days vlog like this one , i really enjoyed how you vlogged and did a timelapse together😊
I’m literally gonna read alll of these books thank you so much!!!
Wow it's already been 5 years since you published this video. Without this video I likely never would have read History of the Rain by Niall Willaims - a book I've now read through cover to cover twice and regularly pick up to reread passages. Thank you for introducing me to one of my all time favourite books!
I always watch her videos when I want to be motivated to read
you are such an inspiration!
Congratulations you make me inspired on reading a lot of books and finish it;) thumbs up for you! I hope you can share a lot of reading like this:)
I love that she is honest 🌺
Awesome format! Got good recommendations too
I’ve been wanting to do this as a challenge and I can’t wait to finish the video to motivate me to start doing so!!
I loved History of the Rain but This is Happiness even more - lovely vlog, Ruby.
I love reading - but a book a day? I'm doing well if I finish a book in two weeks! Mind, I always have more than one book on the go at a time. So, it's hard to tell what my rate is. But I can promise that it's not a book a day! Anyway, love your videos, and if you can read and absorb a book a day, more power to you! 🙂
My reading challenge for the year is 30 and I've only completed 2 😭
@@AlishaAziz same case with me, but we can do this in this summer!! 💛

Thanks for your inspirational videos Ruby 😇💓
Im doing this myself my mom will be so proud of me LOL.Ty for inspiring me to study more and even do this challenge🥰
Emma Watson would definitely be beyond inspired by your life and voice Ruby one day #IKnowIt
If you enjoyed the premise of History of The Rain, you might enjoy Fun Home by Alison Bechdel. It’s a graphic novel & a memoir about Bechdel’s relationship with her father, who committed suicide when she was in college. She is basically decoding her relationship with him, and much of her relationship with him was based on literature. She uses examples from Colette, The Odyssey, Ulysses, and various other works to make some sense of her father’s life, death, and treatment of her.
I completed 7 and a half book in one week ....Thank you for motivating me 😁😁
You are brilliant. I want to try this challenge. I love to read.
I studied salt to the sea for school and loved it, definitely one of my favourites!
