People often complain about the output transformer Fender used in the blackface / silverface Bandmaster & Vibrolux, blackface Tremolux, and silverface Pro Reverb (which I believe is the exact same amp as the Bandmaster Reverb). Some will say it has to do with the phase inverter / bias madness in the blackface / early silverface amps - others say it's just weak iron. Not sure but I know a lot of folks change them, at least in the Bandmaster(s).
The coiled fuse is an old Slow Blow fuse, rather than the fast blow fuses that have the straight wire. I think later slow blow fuses have the coil at one end only
Some slow-blow fuses appear to have a coiled spring and what looks like a resistor (?) inside of them; I presume the spring is there to pull the overheated fuse element in half in a millisecond or two, rather than having it merely sag for a few seconds while still conducting, but I dont know why it would have a resistor inside of it. The other common type of slow-blow fuse has a spiral element wound around what looks like fiberglas or Kevlar, probably for physical support. There are also "timed" fuses that often resemble a fast-blow fuse, usually having a "T" marking on the end cap, and often having what looks like a blob of solder on the fuse element.

The only transformers I ever have to replace are Peavey Classics with the internal fuse and Marshall JTM30/60 models with the under rated jobbies.
